Job Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a strategic Hypersonic Capabilities Development Subject Matter Expert to support our Chantilly VA location. The HCD SME is supporting a portfolio of hypersonic weapon system integration projects with the Strategic Capabilities Office in the analysis, development, and implementation. This role is crucial for the development, fielding, and sustainment of offensive system elements, materiel developer plans, and warfighter strategic plans and operations.

Team Size: 10 - R&D, Systems Engineers, Acquisitions, and Analysts

Location: Chantilly, VA - On-site (9/80)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in analyzing, developing, and implementing Strategic Capabilities Office products.
  • Support the research & development (R&D), prototyping, and demonstrations of weapon system concepts.
  • Conduct requirements crosswalks to various Program Manager’s specification requirements documents.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for element preliminary and integrated baseline reviews, critical design reviews, system functional reviews, weapon systems reviews, initial technology reviews, and program element reviews.
  • Review and evaluate proposed actions and engineering change proposals to ensure user requirements are addressed.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to configuration control boards regarding hypersonic engineering.
  • Support fixed-wing missile system development modifications.
  • Coordinate with the materiel developer and gaining command to review and update support requirements for initial operational capability.
  • Support the materiel developer in manpower estimating processes supporting element deployment or major hardware and software changes.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to identify operator, maintainer, training, and support data for military and civilian requirements for the bases of issue plan.
  • Develop element-level organizational and operational concepts, enabling or employment concepts.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to integrated concept development teams (ICDT) and integrated product teams (IPT) as required.
  • Produce original or modify existing operational system architectures, operations mode summaries/mission profiles, and doctrinal publications.
  • Assist the Government as an SME to support and defend Strategic Capabilities Office requirements during element-level Cost as an Independent Variable (CAIV) trade-off analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree with 10+ years of relevant experience in missile defense, acquisition processes, and force management.
  • Masters Degree preferred.
  • Must possess an active Top Secret with SCI Eligibility
  • Must possess extensive knowledge and understanding of hypersonic systems
  • Experience with hypersonic missile defense, hypersonic offensive capabilities, and or advanced non-kinetic defense weapons.
  • Proven experience in developing and updating JCIDS documents.
  • Strong analytical and evaluation skills for proposed actions and engineering change proposals.
  • Expertise in configuration control boards and ballistic missile defense system spiral development modifications.
  • Experience in supporting the manpower estimating process for element deployment or major hardware and software changes.
  • Ability to provide subject matter expertise for operational concepts and integrated concept development teams.
  • Travel: 25%

Compensation:

  • Pay range: $200,000 - $230,000 per year - (Based on education years relevant of experience)
  • Benefits: Cigna medical, dental, vision, 401(k), 20 days PTO with 11 Federal Holidays
