Job Summary:



Under general direction, with a high level of autonomy, uses extensive knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to provide marketing and trading support to Institutions. Regular contact with internal and external customers is required to obtain, clarify, or provide facts or information. Works independently on complex assignments that are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity with substantial latitude for un-reviewed actions or decisions. Facilitates order flow and projects confidence to the client that the trade will execute. Communicates with the Equity Research Analysts and Institutional Salespersons in order to facilitate information and merchandise flow to clients.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Develops relationships with institutional clients and fellow internal professionals to facilitate efficient order execution.

  • Executes orders, relates bids and offers.

  • Captures market share by obtaining buy/sell stock orders with customer base.

  • Provides marketing and trading support to Financial Advisors and institutions.

  • Participates in generating new sales ideas, new products and cost controls as well as promotes new products through written sales memos, proactive phone networking and branch visits.

  • Leads the work of others and provides ideas and help to enhance client relationships.

  • Troubleshoots operational and administrative issues.

  • Executes orders with FINRA floor brokers and traders as applicable.

  • Stays abreast of financial news/issues that may affect stock and bond prices.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Complies with all existing security regulations.
  • Job Requirements

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



    Knowledge of:



  • Advanced trading strategies and market characteristics within assigned securities type or sector.

  • Advanced concepts, practices, and procedures of institutional equity sales %26amp sales trading.

  • Financial markets, products, and electronic networks.

  • Order entry with FINRA floor brokers and traders



    Skill in:



  • High level customer service.

  • Marketing skills and sales ability.

  • Using technical/professional knowledge, interpersonal and sales skills to obtain customers’ commitment to ideas, services, or products.

  • Advanced math and analytics sufficient for quantitative analysis.

  • Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications, including automated trading systems and proficiency with Bloomberg, Reuters and Microsoft Excel.

  • Attend to detail while maintaining a big picture orientation.

    Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:



  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field and a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of trading experience, including coverage of US domestic institutions.

  • Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.



    Licenses/Certifications:



  • SIE required provided that an exemption or grandfathering cannot be applied.

  • FINRA Series 7, Series 55 and Series 63 Licenses. The ability to obtain other FINRA Licenses (as required) within three months of hire date.
