Job Summary:

Under direct supervision, uses specialized knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to perform daily reconciliation of equity trade inventories on various systems and ensure all money and share balances are accurate. Executes trades to correct errors, adjust inventories, and assists Principal Traders as needed with FIX connections, orders, routing, bunching and other front-office trade related situations, including covering for a trader in a BCP situation. Performs compliance duties such as testing the systems for limits and controls. Works with OMS vendors to test and accept software code updates. Establishes trading short names and credit limits for clients. Works with the rest of the desk to allocate trades, open client accounts, send trade advisements and resolve settlement issues. Responds quickly to trader requests while providing excellent service to clients and traders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the execution of orders and resolution of trade errors for equity traders.

  • Conducts and analyzes compliance reviews to identify irregularities and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory agency rules and regulations.

  • Assists traders with administrative functions such as inventory control, pricing and security set-up.

  • Answers telephones for client account and settlement inquiries.

  • Responsible for keeping inventories balanced and up-to-date within approved guidelines.

  • Performs application software implementations and upgrades.

  • Collects and reviews internal and external market data to ensure compliance with Raymond James trading policies, FINRA requirements and SEC regulations.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Job Requirements

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Knowledge of:

    Company%26rsquos working structure, policies, mission, and strategies.

    Fundamental trading strategies and market characteristics in equities/options.

    Fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of equity trading including reconciliation experience.

    Principles of banking and finance and securities industry operations.

    Financial markets and products.

    Skill in:

    Fundamental math and analytics sufficient for quantitative and analytical analysis.

    Identifying relationships, drawing logical conclusions, and interpreting results.

    Using technical/professional knowledge as well as interpersonal and sales skills to obtain customers%26rsquo commitment to ideas, services, or products.

    Identifying, troubleshooting and escalating application problems.

    Adapting procedures to conform with changing business and/or system requirements.

    Operating standard office equipment and using required software application to produce correspondence, reports, electronic communication, and spreadsheets (FLEX OMS experience ideally).

    Ability to:

    Read, interpret, analyze and apply information from industry data.

    Organize, manage, and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with critical deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

    Use appropriate interpersonal styles and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with all organizational levels including traders and clients.

    Attend to detail while maintaining a big picture orientation.

    Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

    Convey information clearly and effectively through both formal and informal documents.

    Educational/Previous Experience Recommendations:

    Bachelor%26rsquos Degree required, as well as a minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience.

    Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.

    Licenses/Certifications:

    SIE required provided that an exemption or grandfathering cannot be applied.

    FINRA Series 7 %26amp 57 Licenses, or the ability to obtain within ninety (90) days of hire date.
