Job Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Laboratory Research Technician III to join a Federal Program located in Frederick, MD. The Laboratory Research Technician will support the Department of Defense by conducting tests, collecting data, and analyzing scientific studies.

Responsibilities of the Laboratory Research Technician III include:

• Support small and large animal studies in BSL-2, BSL-3, and BSL-4 laboratories.
• Perform inoculations with viruses, vaccines, or testing materials.
• Collect tissues and blood samples for processing.
• Conduct in vitro testing of candidate vaccines and therapeutic compounds.
• Prepare cell culture media and other study supplies.
• Perform immunological procedures (ELISA, Western Blot) and various assays (cell culture, plaque assays, PRNT, PCR).
• Manage lab supplies and assist with Equipment Inventory Management.

Qualifications for the Laboratory Research Technician III include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Biology, or a related field and 1+ years lab experience
• Skilled in Molecular Biology Assays (ELISA, Western Blot, Plaque Assays, PRNT assays, PCR)
• Experience in handling large and small animals, including NHPs and rodents
• Proficient in performing animal inoculations, blood and tissue collection, and sample processing
• Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
• Prior experience in BSL-2, BSL-3, and BSL-4 biocontainment labs preferred
• Must have an Active Secret Clearance

Compensation for the Laboratory Research Technician III includes:

• Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 depending on experience
