Note: This position will follow our hybrid work model, we expect the selected candidate to be in the office a minimum of 8 days per month at the St. Petersburg, FL Corporate Office location.

Job Summary:

As part of the Enterprise Data & Analytics team, this role has primary responsibility of building Cloud native Enterprise Data solutions by working on enterprise class data initiatives. The Lead Architect will be responsible for designing and building data solutions which are flexible, performant, and scalable. Works closely with Solution Architects to create and modify and/or design patterns for Data Models (Normalized and Dimensional) and ETL Data flows particularly on the cloud environment. Demonstrates subject matter expertise and can integrate domain knowledge with an understanding of overall strategy and impact. Is the primary on the most complex or escalated issues and may provide direction, guidance and mentoring to team members. Applies specialized business knowledge and technical skills to significant deliverables and projects that involve multiple IT departments, business units and have enterprise impact.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and Architecture: Build data solutions leveraging AWS services like Redshift, Glue, Kafka, SNS, and Streams to build scalable, secure, and cost-efficient architectures.
  • Data Warehousing: Spearhead the implementation and upkeep of AWS Redshift data warehousing, managing substantial data volumes.
  • ETL Development: Create sophisticated ETL processes with AWS Glue, streamlining data integration and preparation.
  • Real-Time Data Streaming: Oversee real-time data streaming using Amazon Kinesis or Kafka, enabling instantaneous data processing and analytics.
  • Infrastructure Automation: Knowledge of Terraform/Scripting for the automated provisioning of AWS resources, promoting efficient and consistent configurations.
  • Monitoring and Security: Implement monitoring with AWS CloudWatch and ensure adherence to security best practices, including data encryption and access controls.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders, translating business needs into precise technical specifications. Engage in application development, code reviews, and performance analysis to enhance database and application efficiency.
  • Data Modelling & Performance: Design optimal logical and physical data models and databases. Resolve complex database performance, capacity, and replication issues. Architect and evaluate cloud data solutions and applications.

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Advanced knowledge of the following:

  • Experience with the following products and options: Oracle RDBMS, SQL Server, AWS Redshift, Replication solutions (Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Golden Gate and AWS DMS), Oracle RAC, Oracle Exadata, Oracle Multitenant Architecture, AWS Security.
  • Experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development and tuning.
  • Cloud database services.
  • Scripting and automation using shell scripting and Python.
  • Cloud infrastructure.
  • Capacity planning and cloud cost optimization.
  • Concepts, principles, and practices of database administration and management.
  • Cloud and on-premises security systems, procedures and techniques.
  • Data integrity methods and techniques.
  • Concepts, practices, and procedures used in the financial services industry.
  • Code reviews of database objects.

Skilled in:

  • Building low latency Data Integration, solutions a plus.
  • Building real-time data streaming using Amazon Kinesis or Kafka, enabling instantaneous data processing and analytics.
  • Building the solutions on Spark/Glue/EMR is highly recommended.
  • Prototyping and automating Data Integration Processes.
  • Physical Performance Optimization of Oracle Databases.

Ability to:

  • Work together with business stakeholders to understand the requirements and convert into Technical Specifications.
  • Assist in defining development guidelines and standards.
  • Define, document, and maintain all data definitions, data sources, business meaning and usage of information.
  • Provide technical leadership for the definition and development of test plans and system documentation.
  • Troubleshoot existing information systems to identify errors or deficiencies and develops solutions.
  • Create a culture of Quality Assurance excellence and strong testing processes.
  • Ensure data solution monitoring requirements are provided to the Delivery Management team and is alerted when solutions are not performing as expected.
  • Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities compare data from different sources to draw conclusions.
  • Clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.
  • Use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions recommend or take action that is consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences.

  • Occasionally work a non-standard shift including nights and/or weekends and/or have on-call responsibilities.

Education/Previous Experience:

  • Minimum of a bachelor%26rsquos degree in computer science, MIS or related degree and seven (7) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Financial Services experience is highly preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • AWS or Cloud Certification is highly preferred.
