General Summary:
Qualcomm is seeking a talented and passionate Machine Learning Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing our capabilities in machine learning, specifically focusing on hardware bitexact operations to perform Quantize Aware Training (QAT), and working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and other emerging AI models.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement machine learning algorithms and models with a focus on quantize aware training.
Collaborate with firmware/hardware engineers to ensure bitexact operations for efficient model deployment.
Work with Large Language Models and other advanced AI models, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in AI technology.
Optimize and fine-tune models to improve performance and accuracy.
Stay current with the latest research and advancements in the field of machine learning and AI.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning solutions into various products and applications.
Communicate complex technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering.
Strong background in machine learning, deep learning, and AI.
Experience with quantize aware training and hardware bitexact operations.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or similar.
Experience working with Large Language Models and other advanced AI models.
Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Desired Skills
Experience in optimizing models for hardware deployment in edge devices.
Knowledge of AI hardware accelerators and their integration with machine learning models.
Understanding of the trade-offs between accuracy and computational efficiency in AI models.
Experience in developing and deploying machine learning solutions in a production environment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.OR
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
• 2+ years of experience with high-performance microprocessor design.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$154,000.00 - $231,000.00The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
