Job Title:  Manufacturing Engineer

Location:  Salem, NH

Division:  Head Protection

Purpose of Position:
The person hired for the position of Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the safe and efficient manufacturing of several Ballistic Helmet products, and to deliver results for EHS, quality, customer service, cost reductions and new product development.

Essential duties and/or Functions: (Essential Functions/basic job duties that must be able to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation)

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Development and implementation of improvements related to safety, quality, service, and cost (productivity).
  • Driving cost and productivity improvements by leading Lean Six Sigma projects with a variety of toolsets, including: DMAIC, standard work development, tier reviews and kaizens
  • Development and implementation of cross-functional projects, plans, and programs in support of business and strategic plans new process start-ups, new process technology integration, aggressive cost reduction, and supply chain improvement using Lean Six Sigma Tools
  • Proactively communicates project direction and status to appropriate personnel.
  • Implement new process logic to equipment PLC’s.
  • Engagement and involvement in daily operations to meet service targets, including direction/support of maintenance and division engineering activities.
  • Realize growth opportunities by guiding new product introduction efforts and completing experimental runs.
  • Provides daily support of production personnel.

Required Minimum Qualifications (Minimum/Basic level of qualifications needed to perform the essential functions of the position, i.e. education, licensure or any measurable and job-related experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial and/or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited University
  • 2-4 years of Manufacturing / Process engineering experience
  • 1 to 2 years or Solidworks design experience
  • Ability to effectively use statistics in analyzing process data.
  • Demonstrated experience participating on cross functional teams.
  • Flexible to provide support for round-the-clock manufacturing operations as needed.
  • Strong oral, written communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments.

Preferred/Desired Skills or Experiences: (Characteristics/Skills/Experiences that are not required but are preferred)

  • SAP experience a plus

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Salem, NH is $82,000 annually.  The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, type and years of experience within the industry, education, etc.
