The Opportunity:
- The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible to develop manufacturing production processes optimized for space qualified laser-based electro-optical subsystems. Our team is responsible for delivering high-quality products on time, while controlling costs and meeting program objectives.
- This position requires Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in aerospace engineering, manufacturing processes, and effective project management to deliver high-quality spacecraft subsystems efficiently and cost-effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Implement process capability monitoring and improvement, to include the use of statistical process control
- Provide direction in problem solving, product or process characterization, process efficiency improvements and continuous improvement activities
- Drive optimization of products for improved manufacturability, cycle time and cost reductions
- Serve as manufacturing and producibility authority
- Apply engineering skills to optimize value stream and resolve constraints
- Recommend changes to improve cost, efficiency, and quality
- Enhance product producibility through cross-functional collaboration
- Create formal manufacturing documentation from design requirements
- Drive data-driven process improvements and innovative solutions
- Provide technical input on engineering designs and changes
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 20 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years' experience.
- Minimum 20 years of experience managing complex DOD production projects with prior leadership experience in operations, engineering, manufacturing, program management or similar.
- Expert in writing technical specifications or manufacturing work instructions.
- Expert in reading engineering drawings and understanding GD&T.
- Expert in electro-optical design for manufacturability
- Proven experience leading a team of highly skilled manufacturing engineers
- Ability to lead all team members though the process of solving manufacturing engineering issues
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems for assembly and test
- Performed capacity planning for product lines
- Thorough understanding of high volume electro-optical manufacturing and test concepts including the proven ability to effectively introduce improvement changes to the production and test line
- Knowledgeable in AS9100
- Proven technical acumen in the manufacture, test and integration of complex product technologies and systems
- Proven experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies
- Experience in the development of new product from concept to production
- Well versed in utilizing all Microsoft software applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Corrective Action Planning.
- Must be willing to work onsite full time.
Desired:
- Cross-functional experience working across Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Factory and Program Operations.
- Knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and data analysis tools.
- Experience in financial planning, analysis, and cost account management

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$90,700 - $199,600
