YOUR IMPACT

Are you passionate about customer service? Do you have experience in delivering and designing training across large organisations? Do you have a background in risk management and controls operating in the 1st line? We’re looking for a senior risk professional to support our business. Part of our first line risk team, you will play a crucial role in managing risk across our savings business

What you’ll do:

  • You will lead the third- party risk management programme for Marcus UK; managing the firmwide vendor onboarding and risk management frameworks
  • Responsible for Evaluating vendors, suppliers & business partners and managing the risks associated with third parties
  • Act as the central point of contact for all vendor-related activities, working with the relevant business area lead and ensure that all vendors are managed effectively and efficiently for the UK business.
  • Manage third and fourth party risks, be responsible for business resilience for all vendors
  • Monitoring vendor performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensuring that vendors are meeting their contractual obligations.
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating vendor-related risks to protect the organization’s reputation and assets.
  • Collecting and analyzing vendor data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and cost saving.
  • Developing and maintaining positive and mutually beneficial relationships with vendors to enhance the customer experience.
  • Ensure compliance with established policies, procedures and authority levels across multiple cross-functional teams and processes
  • Develop strategies to manage Regulatory and Operational Risk, working in collaboration with 2nd and 3rd line teams to identify any risks and managing issues in line with agreed business policies
  • Provide support as part of a small team of risk professionals, driving the risk strategy along by ensuring all required activities are completed in accordance with the business risk framework
  • Complete ongoing risk assessments; analysing existing risks along with new and emerging risks and identifying, describing and estimating the risks affecting the team and wider business
  • Working closely with global Risk teams to establish and quantify the risk appetite and ensure this is embedded into policies, procedures and controls
  • Conduct regular audits of policy and compliance to standards
  • Partner with Delivery and Training and Development to collect and analyse data from each audit/monitor activity and assist customer support teams with the development and implementation of appropriate corrective action plans, training tips, and team communication to improve overall quality results as necessary
  • Design appropriate and ongoing risk training materials and facilitates training across all the teams
  • Works with teams, and across the business to ensure the incident management and business continuity plans are well understood

REQUIREMENTS

What we’re looking for: 

  • In depth product and regulatory knowledge across Banking and Savings within retail banking 
  • Experience in Third party risk management and Vendor relationship management, operating in the 1st line
  • Operational risk management experience
  • Excellent business analytical, good eye for detail
  • Excellent planning or organizational skills
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence people 
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills 
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, changing, start-up environment
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Good technical acumen: ability to understand the wider digital business architecture 

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years professional experience within risk team 
  • In depth understanding of Operational and Third-party Risk within a regulated environment
  • Understanding of the UK financial services regulatory environment
  • In-depth knowledge of management, regulatory policies and legal requirements

Desirable Qualifications

  • Risk Management within in a retail banking environment 
  • Degree in Finance or a related field preferred
