The Opportunity:As a CACI Mission Assurance (MA) Planner you will support the US Africa Command (AFRICOM) Force Protection and Mission Assurance Division (J34) with joint planning and assessment efforts for the protection of critical infrastructure and the calculation of risk to mission.
Responsibilities:- Represents the Critical Infrastructure Branch at working groups, team meetings, Future Operations (FUOPS) planning sessions, exercise planning sessions, and Contingency Operational Plans planning sessions to ensure the Division’s functional areas are properly integrated, synchronized, and coordinated with the command’s overall operations, plans, and intent.
- Analyzes and distills complex issues as it pertains to the protection function within USAFRICOM’s area of responsibility (AOR).
- Preserves the effectiveness and survivability of mission-related military and non-military personnel, equipment, facilities, information, and infrastructure, deployed or located within or outside the command’s operational area.
- Develops and presents concepts, plans, annexes, and procedures to assure Protection requirements are considered, synchronized, and implemented during execution of peacetime, contingency and wartime missions.
- Provides input and guidance in protection functions through participation in command-level planning groups.
- Makes formal presentations of concepts, analysis, issues, course of action and recommendations for decision making by integrating requirements for the Division and into the Mission Assurance Coordination Board.
- Participates in various activities and assessments to identify and calculate risk to mission, identifying critical assets essential to ensuring mission completion. Documents results of such risk in clearly articulated reports and assessments.
- Works with organizations to develop and execute risk mitigation efforts, including the use of policy and procedure in addition to development of material solutions.
- Advises leadership of such efforts and prepares written reports and presentations that clearly present risk assessments findings and courses of action for mitigation.
- Incorporates into USAFRICOM’s Working Group battle-rhythm structure to provide input and recommendations to MA functions through participation in Joint Staff, USAFRICOM, and Service Component planning groups.
- Plans, coordinates, and integrates USAFRICOM J34 programs into USFRICOM J37 Exercises Division to exercise critical infrastructure capabilities and activities to validate risk mitigation strategies/plans.
Qualifications:Required: - Active TOP SECRET Clearance with eligibility for SCI
- Experience with Mission Assurance/Force Protection planning and/or execution
- Masters Degree in National Security Studies or similar discipline with 2 years’ experience; or, Bachelors Degree with 4 years’ experience; or, 7 years’ experience
Desired:- Prior experience working in Africa or at AFRICOM or at one of its Service Components

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$82,100 - 172,400 USD
