What You’ll Get to Do:

As A  SIGINT Multidisciplined Language Analyst (MDLA) will support Special Operations Command Europe (SOCEUR). This crypto linguist is responsible for all language analyzing, transcribing, and translating of key information. This position requires a minimum language proficiency of Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) equal to a level 2/2 in reading and listening in Russian/Ukrainian. The cryptologic linguist should have substantial experience in language quality control, author reports, and display a broad knowledge of the Intelligence Community as well as how various elements work together. The MDLA should have 6+ years of relevant SIGINT experience.

More About the Role

As a SIGINT MDLA, you will embed with SOCEUR, SOTF and its mission partners and tenant organizations, sometimes potentially in hostile, austere locations, providing expert mission knowledge and technical Intelligence expertise that enables the effective integration of intelligence and innovative technology into seamless solutions that help shape both current and future DoD Cyberspace mission requirements.

You will collaborate across the DoD, commercial industry, and academic space to identify and develop technology and capability enhancements that are informed by close collaboration and coordination with the labs, universities, agencies, and industry partners who are on the cutting edge of research and Development. 

You will support SOCEUR, organizations at all echelons, and work with communities of interest as they deal directly with a wide variety of emerging threats and conduct operations to mitigate those threats.  You will perform expansive cyberspace intelligence analysis to monitor, assess, and report on cyberspace operations, capabilities, and vulnerabilities.  You will use all available capabilities to monitor, track, detect, and analyze cyber threat activities and advise and coordinate actions to develop analytic approaches and recommendations for operational responses to problems and situations for which data are incomplete, controversial, or which no precedence exists.  You will review MDLA Operations Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) and provide input to countermeasure assessments.  You will participate in and provide input for exercise planning and execution and contribute to assessments of ongoing operations against Commander’s objectives to inform senior leadership of mission success or failure.  You will develop and conduct briefings to all applicable DoD staff levels, federal agencies, Intelligence Agencies, Law Enforcement, and U.S. Government organizations on the status of cyberspace operations.

You will collect, analyze, interpret, evaluate, and integrate complex technical intelligence and other data from multiple sources to assess the relevance and significance of emerging threats and developments in assigned areas.  You will conduct research, create intelligence products, estimates and assessments, and conduct intelligence briefings and prepare situational awareness, incident reports, and operational update briefs.  You will collaborate and support all-source methods to assess foreign cyber capabilities, threats and intentions and apply technical SOCEUR mission partner exploitation and identify system and doctrine vulnerabilities. You will collaborate and coordinate on analysis, threat identification, and threat characterization, providing technical expertise to SOCEUR and its mission partners to identify capabilities designed to mitigate those threats. 

You will coordinate and deliver technology and capability integration that is informed by a deep understanding of currently deployed capabilities, emerging threats, and the dangers those threats pose to U.S. national interests, based on a detailed understanding of the process required to move technology from research through operational capability to improve the SOCEUR capabilities for its Information Networks to ensure resilient, reliable information and communication networks, strengthen the nation’s ability to withstand and counter cyberspace threats, ensure access to cyberspace, respond to cyber-attacks, ensure continuity of  operations and secure endpoint security.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

  • Current TS SCI and Poly.
  • Six or more years of experience in creating SIGINT summaries, gist’s, and full translations in Russian including technical, global, colloquial, online, and slang terminology.
  • Military experience as a 35P, 1N3X1, 1A8X1, CTI, 267X, or equivalent.
  • Experience working with NSA/CSS in targeting, intelligence analysis, and/or organizing global intelligence operations. Must have been member of the SIGINT Production Chain.
  •  6+ years of experience in intelligence analysis and organizing global intelligence operations.
  • SIGINT or CYBER Analysis experience, and ability to demonstrate knowledge of databases and collections systems used in the development of intelligence products.
  • Must be able to work independently with limited government oversight and function effectively as part of a team in a joint working environment.
  • Expert level knowledge of SIGINT tools, methods, and concepts.
  • Efficient in tools such as Grapevine, SLATE, and BLUESTEEL.
  • Ability to conduct independent and collaborative research on assigned topics or target areas.
  • Experience as member of or directly supporting SOF organizations preferred. Be capable of effectively operating as a member of an analytical team in support of SOCEUR and DOD requirements.
  • Possess working knowledge of relevant NSA, DNI, DNR, CYBERCOM and DOD and IC tasking, collection, processing, reporting procedures, and communications architecture.

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have

  • Ability to develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
  • Experience and in-depth knowledge of the DOD technology maturation model, Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs), and Defense Acquisition processes.
  • Must be customer and detail oriented and possess good decision-making ability.
  • Experience executing Operational procedures and maintaining documents

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$82,100 - 172,400 USD
