The Opportunity:

The Lunar Gateway (LGW), a vital component of NASA’s Artemis Program, will serve as a multi-purpose outpost orbiting the Moon that provides essential support for long-term human return to the lunar surface and as a staging point for deep space exploration.CACI is looking for an experienced Software Test Facility Integration Engineer to provide integration support for the new Gateway Software Verification Laboratory (GSVL). This laboratory will provide integrated testing of flight software for the NASA Lunar Gateway program.

This position requires a self-motivated, capable integration engineer with strong verbal and written communication skills. In addition to outstanding technical expertise, the individual must be very people savvy, have strong customer relationship skills, possess a positive team-player attitude, be flexible and willing to take on new assignments and responsibilities as they arise, and be an articulate speaker able to communicate complex technical ideas in a convincing manner. The individual must share our passion for our Nation's Space Program and share in the excitement of developing the next human-rated space vehicles.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the GSVL liaison to stakeholders, Gateway partners, and management during technical interchanges.
  • Facilitate document development and maintenance for GSVL hardware architecture and concept of operations.
  • Integrate hardware and software into the GSVL including new flight software releases and avionics emulators.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues found during integration and testing process.

Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident for access to USG facilities.
  • B.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines required.
  • Minimum of 7 years or more years of recent experience as an integration or systems engineer working in a hardware and software environment. Greater experience is highly valued.
  • C programming skills.
  • Familiarity with the Linux operating system.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Share our passion for our Nation's Space Program.

Desired:

  • M.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Software, Computer or Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • Experience in human-rated space vehicles, e.g., Space Shuttle, Space Station, Orion, Commercial Crew, Gateway, and in specific vehicle software domains (e.g., C&T, C&DH, GN&C).
  • Experience in NASA Core Flight Software (CFS).
  • Experience developing and troubleshooting embedded software for Real-time Operating Systems, preferably VxWorks.
  • Experience in Time-Triggered Ethernet (TTE).
  • Experience in serial communication protocols (e.g., 1553, RS-422, RS-232, Ethernet).
  • Experience in software and systems integration.
  • Experience in automated testing.
  • Experience in verification testing.
  • Experience using GitLab and the Git version control system.
  • Experience using Jira.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$82,100 - 172,400 USD
