Job Description:

What You’ll Get to Do:

 Seeking a Naval Architect with expertise in Hydrodynamics in our Washington, DC office to perform design and analysis of new and existing ships and ship systems.

 

More About the Role:

  • Perform hull form design and hydrodynamic analyses for ship designs.  
  • Preparation of powering, maneuvering, and seakeeping estimates
  • Analyze critical elements or performance of a design using analytic tools, model scale and full-scale testing, or prototyping as appropriate. Prepare reports of results and conclusions. Recommend and implement changes to designs based on conclusions.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture or Ocean Engineering
  • Two or more years of experience in US Navy or USCG ship design or ocean engineering.
  • Experience working with ship system performance assessment and prediction methods, especially hydrodynamic design and analysis software including FastShip, Rhino, seakeeping and CFD tools.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills to work with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Must be a US citizen and have ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Skills in Microsoft Office
  • Good written and verbal (English) communication skills.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Master's Degree in Naval Architecture or engineering.
