You will be a part of the Global Network & Technology organization and focusing within Network Systems initiatives for automations, systems Integrations and cost transformation initiatives across Verizon wireline & wireless network teams, as well as service center operation groups. The position will be responsible for defining the delivery of Network Systems strategic initiatives for Wireless Service Assurance teams. The position will work with internal and external stakeholders to build process flows and engineer the solutions for delivery. In this role, you will provide thought leadership, organize, prioritize and design network engineering build specifications to support Verizon's customer experience initiatives and network operations business functionality.

You will be responsible for the following but not limited to:

  • Leading all network engineering build specification and solution development specifications from design/architecture through operationalization.

  • Leading the technical collaboration with internal performance engineers and network technicians to develop Network KPIs then to craft effective methods of data collection, data aggregations, monitoring, reporting and reaction to enable network insights within network applications.  

  • Creating specifications for network data analytics development then lead the implementation efforts through deployment into Network Troubleshooting and Known Issues Rules Engine

  • Extending the frameworks to provide customer experiences across all services on the Verizon Wireless network.  (As part of our overall Wireless Network Customer Experience and Troubleshooting)

  • Designing and developing needed platforms and applications  (including systems integration, and incorporating business processes) to address business problems towards Verizon directives

  • Designing and developing troubleshooting applications to serve network insights into our Operation Centers .

  • Driving innovative ways of solving business problems engaging technologies like Big Data and GIS as needed.

  • Coordinating with stakeholders across Business and IT to implement the solutions end to end and deploy in production environments

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Experience in systems architecture, engineering, design, development, delivery and deployment of Highly Scalable applications involving database technologies.

  • Experience in telecommunications wireless networks (VoLTE/VoWiFi, LTE, UMTS, EVDO, DMA, GSM, Voice over IP (VoIP), and multiple protocols, like Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP), LTE protocols like: Diameter, GTPv2, NAS, S1AP, LTE & NR RRC etc.)

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications.

  • Effective communication, organization, and decision making skills. 

  • Possess good analytical, research and presentation skills. Ability to interact with executives and senior leaders, to communicate complex concepts in a concise and compelling way.

  • Experience in Big Data and GIS technologies in solving real world business problems.

  • Experience migrating applications to Cloud (GCP, AWS, Oracle Cloud or Cloud Foundry etc.).

  • Experience with JSON, NodeJS, REACT, Solaris and PL/SQL, data streaming Platforms Kafka / Pulsar, Experience with ML/Data Models using Python.

  • Experience with Network Management Systems.

  • Experience in systems design and project management.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $103,000.00 and $192,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
