Location: Multiple locations within U.S.          

Amount of Travel Required: >75%

Work Schedule:  M – F (8am – 5pm) Overtime as needed

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role primarily involves collaborating with natural gas generator operators to coordinate, plan, and implement associated services, while also supporting job execution through a range of responsibilities. The individual in this position plays a key role in assisting with the engineering, fabrication, and operations of natural gas generator packages.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word 'may.')

  • Identifies, recruits, trains, and provides ongoing support for prospective employees within the department.
  • Offers support in overseeing troubleshooting activities related to gas turbines and other relevant equipment.
  • Gains proficiency in utilizing available software applications and tools and train others in their effective usage.
  • Offers analysis both before and after jobs, assessing the situation and outcomes comprehensively.
  • Ensures that operators carry out their tasks in strict adherence to safety regulations, standard operating procedures, and workplace protocols.
  • Assess the operational readiness of natural gas generators and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Supports the implementation of more efficient working tasks to enhance productivity and workflow.
  • Conducts critical evaluations of new control systems and associated equipment for natural gas generation packages and other machinery.
  • Assists operations by facilitating the installation and commissioning processes of natural gas generator packages and other equipment.
  • Responsible for supervising and ensuring the performance of all operators, overseeing their duties, including but not limited to safe and continuous operation of generator packages, coordinating with OEC (Operations and Engineering Center), ensuring equipment readiness, and verifying operational logs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Successfully passes background check, pre-employment drug screening, and any pre-employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s).
  • Valid U.S Driver’s License
  • Ability to Travel
  • Daily in-person, predictable attendance.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 10- 20 years relevant experience
  • 5-10 years in a supervisory or management role

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend intermediate English.   
  • Ability to read electrical/controls drawings.
  • Ability to attend, participate, and successfully complete the scheduled New Hire Safety training, including but not limited to H2S, Powered Industrial, and basic First Aid and CPR training.
  • Attends and successfully completes annual safety recertification training.
  • Ability to successfully mentor, train, and advise operations team. 
  • Ability to work within a team concept to successfully complete assigned tasks.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical systems issues.
  • Ability to take instruction well and interact with other employees in a positive manner within the framework of assigned work groups.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
  • Fully knowledgeable, compliant and takes initiative to promote and work with digital platforms including Active Learner, Paycom, KPA, and other company mandated systems. For new hires, ability to quickly learn company platforms.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of communicating in a technical manner with clients, addressing their specific needs and concerns.
  • Advanced knowledge of equipment controls and logic.
  • Capability to work independently when required, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and tasks, demonstrating flexibility in response to evolving work demands.
  • Maintaining a professional demeanor in interactions with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Daily required to walk, sit, climb, bend, reach and squat/kneel. Work environment includes exposure to hazardous materials, operating conditions, audio up to 85 dB and inclement weather, including typical and atypical outdoor elements and extreme cold and hot weather temperatures. Given these conditions, employees are required to wear company mandated and issued personal protective equipment (PPE) (fire retardant coveralls, safety hat, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, ear protection and safety gloves) and must strictly adhere to all safety policies. Turbine Operators are regularly required to lift heavy objects; therefore, the Operations Supervisor must be able to lift 49 lbs. independently and 50-100 lbs. with a team lift. 

Work hours may include early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on job demands.
