What you’ll be doing...Driving continuous improvement is what Verizon Global Sourcing and Supply Chain is all about. The candidate will support efforts through a lead role in determining, negotiating and agreeing on quality procedures, standards and specifications for Global Supply Chain (GSC), Sourcing, and Procurement. The work you perform is critical to reducing risk and providing solutions that protect our company, our employees, and our shareholders.
- Support the Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) program for GSC, Sourcing, and Procurement by overseeing SOX control objectives, evaluating test procedures completed by business process owners, and complying with documented control assessments.
- Lead and own the evaluation process on assigned controls, meeting strict deadlines while providing objective reviews.
- Provide consistent and timely control deliverables updates via Google Sheets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external auditors to ensure completeness and accuracy of SOX controls.
- Contribute to solutions, facilitate discussions, implement feedback, and liaise with business partners to promote efficiency and consistency across the SOX program.

You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
- Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and process facilitation skills.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Compliance or auditing experience in at least one of the following areas: Policy and Procedures, Supplier Contracts, Sarbanes Oxley (SOX).
- An ability to influence business leaders on all compliance risk-related matters affecting the business. The ability to independently challenge, when needed, while at the same time being supportive and solution-based.
- An ability to navigate and negotiate through conflicting demands to maintain focus on priority objectives while ensuring key stakeholders’ needs are met.
- Ability to lead groups, build consensus, and communicate effectively with all levels of personnel within and outside the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and make decisions under pressure.
- Ability to plan, organize, and use mature judgment in evaluating workload to meet deadlines fostering independence.
- Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in response to evolving demands, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency with Google Suites, Slack, & Webex.
