Job Description

Job Title:  Paint Technician

Location:  Cleveland, OH

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepares surfaces by cleaning, filling, sanding, masking, etc.
  • Mixes paints, primers and other liquid components
  • Mixes coating(s) to achieve approved color match standards
  • Prepares and uses spraying vessels, spray guns, hoses and mixing tools 
  • Properly cleans and maintains mixing and spray equipment
  • Proper handling and storage of liquid paints and other materials including solvents
  • Properly handles “pre” and “post” painted articles in the manner prescribed by work instructions and training
  • Operates hand sprayer to achieve appropriate coverage of coating(s)
  • Assists in developing standard operating procedures and work instructions
  • Trains additional personnel as needed
  • Inspects painted products to approved quality standards for cosmetic appearance
  • Performs functional testing for adhesion and other characteristics
  • Follows all safety precautions
  • Performs all quality control checks
  • Care and proper use of special tooling or gaging as instructed
  • Performs process / machine set-up
  • Routine maintenance and machine adjustment as instructed
  • Coordinate with maintenance as needed to prevent / report problems
  • Assures that process area remains clean and organized
  • Reports production data such as parts completed, downtime, nonconformance 
  • Other activities as instructed that support the area safety, quality and delivery requirements

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Prior experience in an industrial or commercial paint process
