The Opportunity:

CACI is looking for a Payload Systems Integration Engineer to support Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Carderock’s Technology and Innovation Office. Join a dedicated team working on advanced systems engineering for defense and undersea warfare solutions. This role offers the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge technology, support critical projects within the DoD and Naval Research and Development Enterprise, and collaborate with experts across government, academia, and industry. As a Payload Systems Integration Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in managing and documenting interfaces, ensuring seamless integration, and supporting complex systems for next-generation undersea warfare capabilities.

This position is in Bethesda, MD and is 100% on-site with option to telework.

Responsibilities:

  • Interface Documentation: Develop and document functional and messaging flows for software interfacing and cyber boundaries between systems, ensuring future payloads can integrate seamlessly with Boeing proprietary software.
  • Requirements Management: Trace and document requirements following DoD Systems Engineering standards to maintain accuracy and consistency throughout the system's lifecycle.
  • Undersea Warfare Expertise: Support and advance the design and implementation of undersea warfare systems, including sensors, communications, and weaponry.
  • CAD Modeling and Interference Checking: Create and review CAD models using SolidWorks, checking for interferences and ensuring design integrity across systems.
  • Technical Collaboration: Participate actively in a technical team of Subject Matt er Experts (SMEs) from across Naval R&D enterprises, universities, and private organizations, ensuring a collaborative and informed development environment.
  • Program Management & Process Execution: Develop, manage, and adapt systems engineering and program management processes to facilitate efficient program execution.
  • Communication: Clearly communicate technical information through both written documentation and oral presentations to support informed decision-making across the team.

Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Bachelors Degree in an engineering field
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering roles
  • Proven understanding of software interfacing, messaging flows, and cybersecurity boundaries.
  • Strong background in requirement tracing and documentation, specifically within DoD environments.
  • Knowledge of undersea warfare technologies, including sensors, communication systems, and weapon platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with SolidWorks for modeling and interference checking.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively on multi-disciplinary teams, engaging with SMEs from various organizations, including government, academia, and industry.
  • Proficient in developing and managing systems engineering and program management processes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance.

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$72,200 - $147,900
