Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Personnel Security Specialist to support the US Space Force (USSF) in in Vandenberg, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Formulates plans, policies, procedures and other documentation required to deal with the operation of SCI protection functions and activities IAW DoD 5105.21 Volumes 1-3, ICD 704/5, AFMAN 14- 304, AFI 16-1404/06 and AFI 31-501.
- Maintain and update the SCI Billet Structure (SCIBS) for the entire installation, and geographically separated Operating Locations. Process requests for changes to SCIBS, including analyzing requests to assure proper need-to-know justifications are enforced. Prepare SCIBS-related correspondence to appropriate agencies. Respond to requests for additional information needed to complete adjudications.
- Maintain and update Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) records for 1,000+ SCI indoctrinated personnel.
- Assist with Staff Assistance Visits and other local inspections as required. Prepares and presents reports with appropriate corrective actions delineated.
- Receive and respond to requests for SCI eligibility, recertification, and special purpose and interim SCI Accesses, insuring validity of the requests.
- Focus on processes related to processing PERSEC related functions
- Assisting with preparation of security plans, reviewing applicable guidelines, and established procedures for all areas of security to include Information Security, Physical/Technical Security, Classification Management, Communication Security (COMSEC), and Program Security
- Working with security systems of record such as the Defense Information Security Services (DISS) and JADE database or the legacy Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS)
- Preparing, processing and maintaining personnel security packages for Special Access Programs (SAPs)
- Supporting facility and network security actions, inspections and daily activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 7 - 10 years of applicable experience
- Must have an in-scope background investigation (SSBI/T5) and the ability to obtain Sensitive Compartment Information and Special Access Program accesses as well as be willing to consent to a polygraph examination
- Experience with Personnel Security
- Experience with Physical Security
- Experience with Sensitive Compartment Information and/or Special Access Programs
- Experience with communication tools such as Microsoft Office suite (MSWord, Excel, Power Point)
Certifications:
- Must complete JPAS training
Compensation:
- Pay Range: $130,000 - $150,000 (based on years of experience and education)
