Qualifications - Master’s degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, Information Assurance Data Management or related field, or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
- Advanced understanding of Data Management and Data Governance Business Area’s data needs, structure, and strategic prioritiesSignificant experienced in developing and implementing programs in a leadership role, providing vision and strategic thinking around a full range of critical decisions and issues
- Proven ability to champion strategic direction from Business Data Owners and make decisions on their behalf
- Expert collaboration skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders within their Business Area and across other Business Units
- Advanced technical domain data knowledge, and ability to articulate and drive requirements for Technical Data Stewards when none is assigned for respective data domains
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences
- Advanced analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a keen understanding of Data Governance principles and practices

Responsibilities - Assist in the establishment of, direct, and manage execution of the BU data governance implementation roadmap that connects data strategy with business goals and objectives and includes strategic priorities for development of technological capabilities
- Assist with leading the coordination of data governance stewards throughout Business Unit
- Serve as data champion and advocate for Business Unit; drive BU data governance and analytics efforts in supporting key business initiatives
- Create strong partnerships with stakeholders such as Risk, Enterprise Technology Services, Information Security
- Ensure coordination between business units, Enterprise Technology Services and Information Security to ensure that data-related business requirements for managing sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated, well understood, and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning
- Provide subject matter expertise to Information Security to ensure that applicable instructions and standards for managing sensitive and/or confidential data are clearly defined, understood, and implemented throughout respective Business Unit
- Partner with BU Risk Officer to ensure coordination with the Data Security Event Management team, informing and understanding DSEM initiative impacts to BU’s data strategy
- Serve as a BU liaison to the EDG Data Scanning team, informing and understanding data scanning initiative impacts to BU’s data strategy
- Assist in developing and maintaining inventory of BU data maps, including authoritative systems, owners, etc.
- Assist in defining indicators of performance and quality metrics, and ensure compliance with data related policies, instructions, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements
- Partner with other business units, Information Security and Enterprise Technology Services to achieve objectives and resolve issues escalated from data governance representatives
- Collaborate with the EDG Office and ER Data Risk Governance (DRG) Office to ensure adherence to enterprise data governance framework and requirements
- Collaborate with EDG, ER DRG, and Procurement and Vendor Management to ensure external data sources also adhere to enterprise data governance framework
- Identify new business opportunities pertaining to the use of data assets to achieve efficiency and effectiveness in the marketplace; represent data as a strategic business asset to Senior Management
- Oversee the identification and remediation of data governance and data validation control deficiencies; develop solutions to strengthen controls, and oversee corrective actions to aid management decisions
