The Opportunity:

CACI's SAFFIRE team is at the forefront of developing and operating state-of-the-art of Geospatial Intelligence analysis software. The SAFFIRE team builds and maintains an exceptionally powerful platform enabling our users to address challenging real-world problems by converting disparate data into actionable information. The team is deeply passionate about its mission and takes tremendous pride in our work. We work directly with operational users to design, develop, and maintain capabilities that empower analysts to create actionable intelligence from the massive volumes of Geospatial Intelligence data to give our intel and combat organizations the decision advantage over our near-peer adversaries.

The Product Owner plays a critical role in ensuring that the product meets both the business and user needs, while also being technically feasible and scalable. In addition to managing the product backlog, writing user stories, and acting as the voice of the customer, the Product Owner will engage in system engineering tasks and collaborate closely with both internal and external stakeholders to align the product’s functionality with its technical architecture.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Government Product Owner: Support in the prioritization of capabilities based on feedback from multiple internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
  • Prioritize and Communicate Team Priorities: Communicate team priorities and product features from the Government Product Owner to the Agile team to maintain focus on high-value tasks.
  • Bridge Technical and Business Needs: Communicate customer and user needs to the development team, ensuring both functional and technical requirements are understood and implemented.
  • Write Epics and User Stories: Develop clear and comprehensive epics and user stories with detailed acceptance criteria that reflect customer needs and business priorities.
  • Coordinate with External Stakeholders: Facilitate communication and coordination with external stakeholders to ensure their feedback is captured and incorporated into product planning and development.
  • Assist in Product Roadmap Development: Collaborate in the development and maintenance of the product roadmap, ensuring the technical feasibility and alignment of product features with business priorities.
  • System-Level Understanding: Engage in system engineering tasks, ensuring a strong understanding of the underlying system architecture and how components interact, scale, and perform across platforms. This includes assessing technical risks, identifying potential improvements, and working with development teams to address cross-functional challenges.
  • Manage Technical Feasibility: Participate in discussions around technical constraints, helping to balance business priorities with system limitations to ensure that each feature is both implementable and scalable.
  • Ensure Long-Term Scalability: Contribute to system-level design and improvements, ensuring the product is sustainable and scalable for long-term success.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • TS/SCI with Polygraph: Required for working in a government-sensitive environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of relevant experience
  • Prior Experience with Agile Development and/or Scrum: Proven ability to adapt and work in a rapidly changing environment while demonstrating excellent communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills.
  • Technical Background: Strong understanding of Software Development and Geospatial Analysis to bridge the gap between functional needs and technical solutions.
  • Domain Experience: Experience with Geospatial Analysis and/or NGA Geospatial Software Programs to understand the specific needs and constraints of geospatial products.

Desired:

  • Experience with Cloud Computing and Hybrid On-Prem Solutions: Familiarity with cloud architectures and hybrid solutions that blend on-premise and cloud technologies.
  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Knowledge of all stages of the SDLC, from planning to deployment, to ensure seamless integration and product delivery.
  • Experience with Esri and/or OGC Software and Services: Familiarity with geospatial software solutions such as Esri and OGC standards, enhancing the ability to address product-specific requirements.
