This position will be the Change Manager/Project Manager supporting a complex, high-speed network-based program for the Dept. of Defense.  Anticipated daily activities include: creation of agendas for internal and external meetings, lead internal and external status meetings, capture and distribute meeting minutes, assign action items to appropriate stakeholders, facilitate technical discussions as needed, create and manage project plans, manage the Change Management process. As required the Change Manager/Project Manager will provide written status to the Verizon Program Manager and executive leadership both internal and external to Verizon.

Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Handle montly reporting, analyze reports to ensure they are accurate.

  • Manage conflicting tasks and prioritize tasks to meet program goals.

  • Listen effectively to the cutomer and manage solutions within the confines of the contract service offerings.

Change Management responsibilities:

  • Leverage a change management methodology, process and tools to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative.

  • Enable the design, development, delivery and management of key communications.

  •  Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness, and identify key stakeholders

  • Provide input, document requirements, and support the design and delivery of training programs

Additional responsibilities:

  • Attend the Engineering Review Board (ERB)

  • Conduct weekly Change Management Review Board (CMRB)

  • Complete change management assessments

  • Identify, analyze and prepare risk mitigation tactics

  • Consult and coach project teams on the impact of proposed changes

  • Create actionable deliverables for the core change management plans: Sponsor Plan, People Manager Plan, Communications Plan, and Training Plan

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Five or more years of Telecom and/or IT Implementation Experience

  • Five or more years of relevant management/supervisory experience

  • Five or more years of relevant experience with Data Center and High Speed Networking

  • Significant experience following Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) methodologies

  • Active DoD Secret clearance

In addition the follwing is imperitive:

  • High speed Networking (transport design, latency, jitter, packet loss)

  • Change Management

  • Risk Management Framework (RMF)

  • Configuration Management (CM)

  • Information Management

  • Asset & Mobility Device Management

  • Data Management and Reporting

  • Continuity of Operations Programs (COOP)

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

  •  Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v3

  • CompTIA A+ or Security+
