Location:  Cleveland, OH

Purpose of Position:

The Strategy and Business Operations function is responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives and key programs within the head protection organization, in line with Group strategy, that drive operational efficiency and organizational growth. The Project Coordinator is an integral team member of this function, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth execution of projects from inception to completion. The Project Coordinator will provide support to program leads/managers, project leads/managers, and/or other functional leads on projects that will vary both across functions and in scale. This could include transformation programs, projects aligned with enterprise initiatives, New Product Introduction (NPI), major commercial bids, Continuous Improvement (CI) efforts including Kaizens, or Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) activities. 

The primary responsibilities of the Project Coordinator will be to assist in project planning (including milestones, resources, financial costs and benefits, risks & mitigations, and interdependencies), driving and facilitating effective communication and collaboration, coordinating resources and activities, report preparation, outcome and result metric tracking, and associated financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, with a keen ability to prioritize tasks and provide effective support to multiple programs and/or projects simultaneously, depending on their size and complexity. They will perform various tasks, such as coordinating meetings, maintaining project documentation, tracking and reporting project progress, identifying and mitigating potential risks, and ensuring that all projects are completed on time, on budget, and meet high quality standards. This role requires a high performing candidate who is detail oriented, proactive, intellectually curious, and has strong interpersonal skills.

Essential Duties and/or Functions:

  • Assist in the development of program management documents such as project charters, project plans (that outline project governance, scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables), financial costs and benefits, risk and mitigation plans, interdependencies tracker, and approval documentation.
  • Develop and maintain activity plans if/when appropriate.
  • Act as a center point of contact for project-related communication. Keep "a pulse" on a project, understanding the nuances behind the activities.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally and schedule and organize project and other stakeholder meetings.
  • Work with Project/Functional leads to allocate adequate resources, assign tasks to team members, and communicate expectations.
  • Facilitate communication (within and across projects) and drive a culture of collaboration.
  • Effectively, accurately, and proactively communicate updates, changes, and risks to the team.
  • Pro-actively identify, communicate (and potentially escalate), and mitigate project risks.
  • Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including weekly/monthly reporting, meeting minutes, etc.
  • Monitor and track project progress, including activities and project budgets/costs.
  • Coordinate and track Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) in line with enterprise and SBU strategic objectives.
  • Support the team in implementing the "Avon way" of Program Management and embody the approach.
  • Throughout projects, identify "lessons learned" which can be documented and shared across the organization for areas of improvement.
  • Support the Director, Strategy & Business Operations in establishing a high-performing team capable of delivering complex projects on time and on budget.
  • Responsible for adherence to functional operating procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's work health and safety policies, standards and procedures.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent reading, writing, and presentation skills: must have a mastery of language. Great spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as the ability to write succinctly, persuasively and distill complex ideas into simple explanations.
  • Effective oral/written communication and interpersonal skills. Must be comfortable dealing with people and pressure and building relationships cross-functionally.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Strong organization and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must possess critical thinking skills and demonstrated ability to be a problem solver.
  • Ability to research, analyze, and interpret data.

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office365: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.
  • Skill in presenting data in various methodologies depending on audience including various visual formats.

Preferred/Desired Skills and/or Experiences:

  • Minimum two years of college coursework in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, other quantitative studies, or similar areas of study (or internship/equivalent work experience).
  • Previous experience in project management (including but not limited to applying LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies), strategy, business operations, continuous improvement, management consulting, M&A, or a related field.
  • Proficiency and/or exposure to project management software and tools, such as MS Project.

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Cleveland, OH is $55,000 to $72,000 annually.  The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, type and years of experience within the industry, education, etc.
