Job Description

The Risk division is responsible for credit, market and operational risk, model risk, independent liquidity risk, and insurance throughout the firm.

Divisional Overview

The Risk Division is a team of specialists charged with managing the firm’s credit, market, liquidity, and operational risk. This role sits within Operational Risk which develops and implements risk assessment and oversight frameworks designed to identify, monitor, and manage non-financial risks such as those associated with systems, people, processes, and external events. The risk division is ideal for collaborative individuals who have strong ethics and attention to detail. 

Role Overview

The role will be in the Frameworks & Governance Team within Operational Risk. This role requires an energetic self-starter that can work with a cross-regional team and liaise with a diverse group of stakeholders across the firm. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills as well as a strong desire to learn will be required for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the Operational Risk Metrics Framework by ensuring Metrics are collected, reviewed, and reported according to applicable governance and timelines.
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the firm to onboard, refine and automate Operational Risk Metrics.
  • Develop presentation materials for senior management, executive committees, and regulatory exams on metric proposals, developments, and performance.
  • Contribute to the development of scalable workflows, processes, and procedures to enhance the governance of Operational Risk Metrics.
  • Design & create mock-ups of dashboards or reporting to visualize metric performance, and the overall health of the metric program. Collaborate with Risk Engineering teams to implement these.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation and testing of strategic Metrics infrastructure.

Qualifications, Skills & Aptitude

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Statistics or Engineering.
  • 1-2 Years of financial industry experience 
  • Experience in developing workflows, data visualizations and business intelligence solutions using tools such as, but not limited to, Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI, and front-end technologies and languages are strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with the operational risk framework is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Python, SQL are helpful but not essential
  • Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills
  • Quick learner who can thrive working as part as a cross-regional team and individually.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on delivery.
