About this Role

Brink Constructors, Inc.

A Brink Safety Professional's goal is to ensure our staff has injury and accident free work days each day and they go home to their families. This position spends up to 100% of their time in the field working with managers and staff to ensure safe outcomes of projects. The primary functions are safety observation, scheduling and completing training, providing guidance, investigating accidents and incidents, ensuring policies are followed, assist in the writing of new policies, ensuring all paperwork is in compliance with expectations, ensuring DOT requirements are met, working with other safety agencies to ensure we are implementing best practices, ensuring MSDS database is up to standards, and performing many other safety related items.

Position requires 100% travel anywhere throughout the Southeast

What You'll Do

Safety:

  • Provide an example of safe behavior to fellow employees through example, behavior and attitude.
  • Ensure a safe work environment for those around you.
  • Assist and or conduct site safety analysis of proposed or awarded projects.
  • Assist with the establishment of additional PPE requirements based on the job specific requirements at each project.
  • Ensure proper PPE is utilized by everyone on a jobsite during site visits.
  • Ensure all safety alerts and safety information is developed and disseminated where appropriate and in a timely manner.

    Reporting and compliance:

  • Ensure staff is trained on Safety Policies and Procedures and they are utilized 100% of the time.
  • Work with Safety Manager to develop and promote best practices in safety management.
  • Understand where the safety risks are and mitigate said risks.
  • Ensure all processes are being constantly and consistently followed.
  • Ensure paperwork including incident reports and safety alerts are prepared and sent in a timely manner.
  • Ensure project safety information is gathered, conformed and prepared to ensure we are in compliance with government and corporate safety reporting.
  • Ensure safety documents are reviewed and disseminated accordingly.

    Production:

  • Manage process to ensure safety policies are developed, disseminated, understood and are followed by all Brink Employees.
  • Work with clients to ensure we capture the essence of our safety program and meet the expectations of our clients.
  • Provide guidance on Safety matters to Brink Staff.
  • Work with Safety Manager to develop procedures for safety process and support implementation.
  • Support the assessment of safety policies and processes annually.

  • Develop and disseminate safety procedures and policies throughout the organization.
  • Ensure all paperwork and documentation is properly accounted for, disseminated where appropriate and stored in the proper location.
  • Ensure safety compliance.

    Mentor Others:

  • As a safety professional, it is imperative that safety is in mind with everything that is done. It is a requirement for Safety Professionals to work toward training everyone onsite to become an individual proponent for safety through mentorship.
  • All Safety information learned and gathered on the safety policies and processes should be disseminated throughout the organization and should be passed along in a manner to grow others.

    What You'll Bring

    Required: 

    • Bachelor's Degree preferred (preferably in environmental health and safety, engineering or related field) relative experience and/or certifications can be factored in if no degree.
    • Minimum 3 years of field safety experience or equivalent related experience
    • Valid, Active Driver's License
    • Valid, Active DOT Medical Examiner's Certification
    • Willingness to travel and work on various job sites throughout the Midwest

    Preferred:

    • Preferred Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) or willingness to obtain
    • Preferred OSHA 500 Trainer/Instructor or willingness to obtain
    • Preferred CPR First Aid Instructor or willingness to obtain

    Pre-screen: Upon offer, employees will be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
