The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Enterprise Network Services (FENS) Associate Director of Program and Project Management has responsibility for All aspects of sales and pre-sales work on FAA will report to this solution including sales reps, solutions architects, enterprise architecture, Operations, Planning & Design (OPD), access design, quote creation, RFP response and more.
As the Associate Director of Program and Project Management for the Public Sector Federal Aviation Administration Enterprise Network Engineering Services (FENS) Enterprise Services team, you lead the sales and pre-sales engineering team to work with the customer to define requirements, design solutions to meet those requirements (including involving third party vendors and external partners) and work through RFP response, quote generation, and customer acceptance and ordering processes.
You will lead and work cross functionally with a variety of Verizon internal and external teams and Third-party providers. You are well versed in sales activities, proposal response, vendor management, and technology disciplines such as Site services, Managed Services, Diversity (electrical, physical, and carrier), Enterprise Solutions, MPLS, Voice services, and more.
You’ll lead a team of Sales Representatives, Solutions Architects, access planners, and matrix with pricing, proposal response, and the FAA business office to drive excellence in solutions development, solutions selling, and opportunity closure. You’ll play a vital role in driving our advanced solutions business performance, growing the capability of your team, and ensuring that nothing gets in the way of achieving success.
You will need experience to:
Understand customer business challenges.
Draft agreements with pricing, service commitments, and technical specifications.
Provide briefings at various levels, including senior executives.
Develop and deliver technology roadmap upgrades during the life of the contract.
Conduct and build business and cost models based on technical architecture.
Identify, own, and drive resolutions to gaps in the deal lifecycle delivery processes.
Lead and guide internal and external teams with creating and delivering complex, integrated solutions to meet our customer requirements
What we’re looking for...
An experienced professional who has:
Created/matured/reviewed sales opportunities including identifying and vetting vendors, working with pricing and PCM teams, writing proposals, creating and reviewing quotes, and working closely with the customer to identify opportunities and bring them to fruition
Led the development of technical solutions including working with vendors and internal teams, engaging support groups, creating custom solutions that combine Verizon and third party solutions, familiar with Verizon wireline and wireless solutions and the associated process and procedure to scope, propose and quote those solutions.
Led teams in the technical and sales response on RFPs including designing the solution, costing the solution, writing the response, bringing that response and pricing through internal processes such as DLM and CPS-103, and presenting to the customer.
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
Experience managing teams
Five or more years experience in a sales or solutions architecture role within the telecom industry.
Five or more years experience in a customer facing role
Vendor management and negotiation experience
An ability to obtain a public trust security clearance
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
An MBA or advanced degree
Ability to manage and balance business and technical requirements.
Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills
Highly organized with an ability to manage competing priorities.
Demonstrated interpersonal communication, organization and project management skills.
Experience with public sector customers
Familiarity with internal teams and processes within the public sector organization for sales and solutions architecture
