General Summary:

Analyzes complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. Configures system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing; and creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements. Designs details of automated systems. May provide consultation to users in the area of automated systems. May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues. 

**Must be in the office in San Diego full time (at least 4 days a week)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
OR
Bachelor’s degree in a non-technical field (e.g., Business, Humanities, Marketing) and 1+ year of IT-relevant work experience.
OR
High School diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of IT-relevant work experience.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 
•    Communicates with project lead via email and direct conversation to provide project status updates and information about impending obstacles. 
•    Discusses issues within and outside of project team on a regular basis to maintain open communication. 
•    Works with more senior Systems Analysts to analyze and evaluate issues in production-related systems or applications. 
•    Executes test cases, documents test results, and documents test scripts and data requirements for execution. 
•    Manages individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with minimal supervision. 
•    Seeks out learning opportunities and feedback to increase own knowledge and skill using internal and external training resources. 
•    Escalates complex technical issues to an appropriate party (e.g., project lead, colleagues). 
•    Networks with colleagues within domain of expertise to gain insight, ideas, and connections. 
•    Actively seeks answers for new challenges, and explores multiple strategies for completing project tasks. 
•    Adapts to moderate changes and setbacks in order to manage pressure and meet deadlines. 
•    Completes moderate technical tasks assigned by more senior personnel. 
•    Contributes to technical conversations with tech leads/managers. 
•    Manages distractions, prioritizes tasks, and deals with setbacks in a timely manner under direction from more senior personnel.

Level of Responsibility:
•    Working under close supervision. 
•    Taking responsibility for own work and making decisions with limited impact; impact of decisions is readily apparent; errors made typically only impact timeline (i.e., require additional time to correct). 
•    Using verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information about day-to-day activities to others who are fully knowledgeable in the subject area. 
•    Completing tasks that require multiple steps that must be performed in a specific order, using directions or manuals that accurately document the steps necessary to perform the tasks. 
•    Using deductive problem solving required to solve moderately complex problems; most problems have defined processes of diagnosis/detection; some limited data analysis may be required. 
•    Exercising some creativity may be required to troubleshoot technical problems or deal with novel circumstances.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$35.58 - $53.36

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
