Qualcomm Security Engineers perform security assessments, develop company products, and collaborate across functions to ensure performance metrics and product requirements are met.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Security Engineering or related work experience.Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 12+ years of Security Engineering experience or related work experience.
• 4+ years of experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, System Verilog, etc.
• 3+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with executive leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above).
• 3+ years in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Leverages expert Security knowledge and experience to direct and drive the achievement of highly critical engineering business objectives.
• Drives the development of new hardware and software security features and updates of features into existing products; leads and manages teams to ensure security of all products is maintained throughout the product lifecycle.
• Communicates and implements guidelines for performing security assessments and evaluation of company products, including vulnerability and risk assessments, threat analysis, and security code reviews to identify potential design and implementation vulnerabilities.
• Drives the strategic collaboration across organizational teams for the development, adoption, and implementation of security architectures and designs for products and sub-systems.
• Directs the remediation for security risks, vulnerabilities, and product security incidents; collaborates with high-level customers and stakeholders regarding product security related issues.
• Communicates and implements guidelines for the development and deployment of processes, trainings, and tools that result in secure product development.
Level of Responsibility:
• Provides supervision to other supervisors/managers who are direct reports.
• Decision-making is critical in nature and highly impacts program, product, or project success.
• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey highly complex and/or detailed information. May require strong negotiation and influence with large groups or high-level constituents.
• Works within the prescribed budgetary objectives of the department.
• Has influence over the formulation and achievement of long-term business plans and objectives.
• Tasks often require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; extensive planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$221,600.00 - $332,400.00The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
