We are seeking a highly motivated associate to join our Web Application and API Protection (WAAP) team. This individual will assist in the analysis, monitoring and protection of Verizon’s external facing applications against malicious and fraudulent activities. The ideal candidate will be able to handle multiple projects at a time and be able to interact with our internal customers effectively and drive onboarding efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Add new applications to the WAAP tool which entails knowledge of origins, c-names, CDN settings and rules, WAAP Rule fine tunings, Rate Limiting activities, BOT Rule creation and execution.
Constant monitoring on the rules creating events to ensure Verizon assets remain protected.
Work directly with security tool vendors to ensure protections are at the best possible positions.
Reporting on any LARGE events that are out of the ordinary. Continuous
interactions with application teams to ensure their applications are protected to the best of the WAAP abilities.
Splunk SME with the ability to perform ad-hoc searches, reports, dashboards, alerts, data analytics, reporting, applications, a Splunk Guru.
Act as a Splunk Architecture Administrator.
Must understand all the Splunk architecture configurations such as indexers, search heads, cluster masters, management servers, etc.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field four or more years of work experience.
Hands-on experience in managing and administering enterprise-level technical environments.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Knowledge and experience of WAAP tools and services.
Experience with networking tools
Splunk knowledge or experience
Knowledge of scripting languages for automation and orchestration.
