We are part of Qualcomm AI Research, and we focus on researching model efficiency techniques – including model quantization, model compression, network architecture search (NAS), transfer learning and related fields. We turn this research into state-of-the-art tools like the AI Model Efficiency Toolkit (AIMET) that help Qualcomm’s customers and the AI community easily apply these techniques to their tasks and models. In this role, you will work in a dynamic research environment, be part of a multi-disciplinary team of researchers and software developers, work with popular neural network frameworks, and understand the architecture of Qualcomm’s SOC compute and ML HW accelerators. You will architect, design, develop & test software for machine learning tools and frameworks that enable making models smaller and run efficiently on all edge devices. The successful applicant should have a strong software background, and passion to work on neural network frameworks/libraries. Prior experience developing AI software toolkits would be a big plus.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3-5+ years' programming experience using Python required. C/C++ nice to have.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will demonstrate one or more of the following:

• Knowledge of neural networks, with hands-on experience using ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Prior experience contributing to open-source software development projects or customer facing software development projects would be a big plus
• Prior experience developing ML model optimization frameworks
• Experience deploying ML models on edge devices
• Experience developing data pipelines for ML models or ML model training pipelines
• Object-oriented design and development skills
• Debugging and analysis skills, for root-causing complex issues
• Experience profiling software to find runtime and memory bottlenecks and optimizing the same
• Experience with source code and configuration management tools, such as Git
• Previous experience working in an Agile environment, and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams
