Job Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking an innovative Senior Elastic Engineer to support a dynamic, fast-paced project focused on improving the cyber security posture of civilian government agencies. The Senior Elastic Engineer will work with a talented and motivated team of professionals on a high-visibility cybersecurity program. This opportunity will be a long-term contract based in Fairfax, VA, twice a week on site, three days remote.  

Responsibilities for the Senior Elastic Engineer Include:

•      Shape, execute, and sustain a cloud/hosting strategy for a shared service platform, focusing on cyber risk mitigation and security solutions

•      Deploy, configure, and automate Elastic Cloud Enterprise (ECE) and its modules, ensuring optimal performance, monitoring, and security in both Production and non-Production environments

•      Collaborate closely with Cloud Architecture and Operations teams to support client missions, addressing unique challenges and priorities

•      Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair issues related to Elastic clusters, data ingestion, reports, and visualizations, while working in an Agile cross-functional team

Qualifications for the Senior Elastic Engineer Include:

•      Bachelor’s degree in related field

•      5+ years of experience in sizing, designing, and deploying ELK stacks in ECE

•      Strong knowledge of TLS, security certificates, and deployment automation using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and AWS CloudFormation

•      Experience troubleshooting/debugging production issues, Cross-Cluster Search, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS, Ansible, Terraform), and CI/CD processes

•      Work Authorization: US Citizenship

Compensation for the Senior Elastic Engineer includes:

•      Salary Range: $130,000+/ year depending on experience
