Job Description Summary:

PayPal provides Credit solutions globally to both Consumer and Business Customers. The Credit Finance team plays a pivotal role in analyzing, understanding, and driving business results. We are looking for a highly motivated Financial Analyst to join our Business Lending team. In this role, you will work closely with the Credit Risk, Operations, Analytics, Marketing, and Accounting teams to translate business strategies into expected financial performance.

The Financial Analyst will support the financial planning process, which includes near term forecasting, annual planning, strategic planning, and global expansion initiatives.  The position will support the analysis and modeling of the business loan portfolio, developing forecast assumptions through data analysis, perform profitability analysis of key segments, and assess strategic and tactical initiatives.  This person will have the opportunity to collaborate with and support multiple functional areas across the business to project and deliver results, while influencing business strategies.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Assist with developing the near-term and long-term business planning assumptions and pro forma financial statements
• Provide insights and input into the annual plans and quarterly forecasts for loan volume, revenue, losses/reserves, and operating expenses
• Research and review portfolio activity to measure and map asset performance.  Identify trends to support forecast assumptions, model inputs, and perform attribution analysis
• Provide meaningful daily, weekly, monthly analysis of trends vs. expectations. 
• Partner with Marketing team to develop marketing channel P&Ls to support management initiatives, incremental spend opportunities, and facilitate decision-making
• Maintain, update, and enhance financial operating models
• Provide accurate and thorough reporting and explanations of results to business leaders
• Partner with Credit Finance team members to envision, define, and drive opportunities for technology and process improvements

• Ability to self-manage and work efficiently under pressure.  Capable of managing multiple streams of work and adapting to changing priorities    
• Strong administrative, organizational, process, and communication skills.  Relentless attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (or related field).  MBA, CFA, CPA are a plus.
• Experience in rogressive finance/accounting career experience (corporate finance, FP&A, consulting, investment banking, fixed income, private equity, or public accounting) and a proven track record

• Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.

• Experience working in the financial services or banking industry a strong plus. 
• Computer savvy with advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially with Excel and PowerPoint (VBA experience a plus)
• Strong experience with financial modeling, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis
• Comfortable working with large data sets
• Technical competence with accounting principles and financial reporting standards

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is

$52800 to $136510
