We are seeking a Senior Manager for UI/UX, specifically for our Design System, to join the Verizon Value Design System team. This role will be responsible for crafting a design system that supports multiple brands and channel experiences within the Verizon Value portfolio. 

The Senior Manager of the Design System will develop strategies for component scalability throughout the development phases. This individual will manage a team responsible for creating the visual front-end elements of the design system component library, including documentation and usage guidelines. 

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the landscape of user experiences and the ability to translate these into components with a strategic approach, while also maintaining and organizing the component library. Additionally, the candidate should be able to envision how the future dynamics of AI will impact the system.

As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of React Developers, Designers, and AEM Developers, guiding them toward a common goal. You should be able to strategically curate the tasks and activities that need to be performed.

What you’ll be doing…

• Developing patterns for the Verizon Value Design System to ensure a consistent user experience.

• Candidate should possess a solid expertise in React, AEM components, and effective conversion practices, enabling me to deliver high-quality solutions that drive results.

• Thoroughly exploring, refining and documenting the development solutions

• Actively exploring user context, and engage in target user activities when possible

• Participating in insight-gathering activities (informal or formal, primary or secondary) and create solutions that leverage user insights

• Actively research competitive products, industry trends, and topics, and recommend activities, solutions, and methods to guide team members and stakeholders

• Staying updated on Verizon's business, strategy, and organizational structure

• Effectively design solutions within Verizon's business context and revenue model

• Maintaining a working knowledge of UI standards for common platforms (iOS, Android, Web).

• Working within Verizon Value’s front-end and back-end technology constraints and capabilities.

• Giving and receiving constructive feedback.

• Communicating the current project plan, goals, and expected outcomes.

What we’re looking for…

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

• Six or more years of relevant work experience.

• Experience in UI development.

• Experience with Agile software delivery environments.

• Experience with common design software (Figma, Adobe, etc.).

• Experience with UI Architecture, Responsive design, SPA, and/or Design Patterns.

• Experience front-end technologies of React JS and TypeScript.

• Experience writing code and maintainable software.

• Experience with web performance, web accessibility, release cycle management, CI/CD pipeline, and/or SDLC Process.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science.

• Portfolio of professional work.

• Experience with Agile software delivery environments.

• Contributed to multiple design programs or shipped products with a large user base.

• Contributed to overall product success.

• Experience with Fortune 500 organizational environments.

• Experience with Redux, React Native, JavaScript (ES5, ES6), Object Oriented JavaScript, Webpack, Rollup, Ajax, SCSS, Styled Component, HTML5, and/or CSS3.

• Experience Micro Frontend, Next JS.

• Experience in writing Unit Tests using Jest.
