Job Description:

The Opportunity:

CACI is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to support our customer, U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), in Omaha Nebraska This position is contingent upon award of the STRATCOM Information Technology and Lifecycle Services (SCITLS) program

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements scalable network architectures for LANs, WANs, and wireless networks.

  • Designs and configures complex network components like routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.

  • Plans network expansions and upgrades to meet mission requirements.

  • Installs, configures, and manages network hardware and software

  • Performs network upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities

  • Implements network security policies and best practices

  • Configures firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and access control mechanisms

  • Analyzes network traffic patterns and forecast future bandwidth needs

  • Optimizes network performance by managing bandwidth allocation and QoS

  • Maintains comprehensive network documentation including network diagrams, configuration details, and operational procedures

  • Generates reports on network performance and utilization

  • Provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers

  • Collaborates with vendors and service providers on network related projects

Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility at time of hire

  • BS of Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience engineering complex IT systems.

  • Possess certifications as directed by DoDD 8140.x Advanced level.

  • A High-level expertise in Cisco products and design, including experience in design and support of Cisco infrastructure, Collaboration, Security, Wireless and/or Data Center

  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Cisco Certified Network Professional, or equivalent certification

  • Time / Project Management – be able to appropriate manage time and priorities independently, meeting the billable/chargeable targets set by the company (billable and chargeable time involves assessments, planning, design, configuration, installation, and support of infrastructure solutions)

  • Must be able to handle multiple concurrent tasks with minimal supervision

  • Must have the ability to thrive in an environment of multiple shifting priorities

  • Excellent communication skills and comfortability presenting, both internally and client facing

  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to Collaboration and network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records

Desired: 

  • Experience with DoDAF.

  • Familiarity with NetTerrain

  • Experience with complex system of systems engineering practices.

  • Experience with tool automation and integration technical auditing.

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$85,000 - $178,600
