Position Specific Description

As a Senior Salesforce Developer at NextEra Energy, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing Salesforce solutions to enhance our customer relationship management (CRM) capabilities. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective and scalable technical solutions. Your expertise in Salesforce development, along with your problem-solving skills, will contribute significantly to the growth and efficiency of our business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy custom Salesforce solutions using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components, and other related technologies.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Implement and manage Salesforce integrations with various internal and external systems.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and other team members.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for Salesforce solutions, including data models, configuration, and custom code.
  • Perform regular system maintenance, including data integrity checks, system audits, and optimizing performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Salesforce applications.
  • Stay updated with Salesforce releases, new features, and best practices to ensure our Salesforce environment remains efficient and up-to-date.
  • Design and developer Salesforce integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, Salesforce platform events and middleware tools.
  • Design and develop in Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components, SOQL, and SOSL.
  • Working experience with tools like VSCode, CI/CD, GitHub, Salesforce workbench, data loader, etc.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce security using profiles, sharing rules, permission sets, etc.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team of developers and working experience with offshore team.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure coding standards and best practices are followed.
  • Manage and perform deployments using Salesforce DX, Change Sets, and other deployment tools.
  • Ensure compliance with NextEra Energy’s security policies and procedures.

     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Salesforce development and administration.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I & II certifications (or equivalent) are strongly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of Salesforce architecture, products, and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of CRM concepts and business processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

     

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Salesforce industries (formerly Vlocity) or other industry-specific Salesforce solutions.
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with other CRM platforms or cloud-based technologies.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools specific to Salesforce Development (e.g., Salesforce DX, Jenkins).

Job Duties & Responsibilities

•  Analyzes, designs, develops, tests, debugs, implements, maintains, integrates, customizes and enhances existing or new systems

•  Applies appropriate Agile or development methodologies, system development lifecycles, tools, and technology

•  Automates the handoff of code releases from development to operations (DevOps)

•  Participates in the change management and  service ticket management processes, including receiving, resolution monitoring and ensuring customer satisfaction

•  Leads projects when needed and builds strong working understanding of the solution being delivered

•  Ensures user satisfaction by providing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely resolution of more complex problems

•  Designs, develops and  tests experimental application work to test new ideas with bounded cost and time frames

•  Ensures that applications processes are conducted in line with corporate social responsibility, security, compliance, environmental, and technical policies and applicable standards and legislation

•  Acts as liaison with regulatory agencies, vendors, and contractors on matters relating to computer systems as required

•  Defines metrics and monitors Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for systems being developed

•  Performs other job-related duties as assigned
