Job Summary

Supervises mechanics on site. Responsible for supervisory, technical and administrative work involving the mechanical repair, overhaul, maintenance and servicing of automotive, construction and maintenance equipment and work planning for mechanics and other skilled and/or unskilled workers.

What You'll Do

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES- THE EMPLOYEE SHOULD BE ABLE TO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS WITH OR WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS

• Lead, Plan and participate in maintenance activities

• Supervise/Coordinate Mechanics repairing equipment

• Securing rental vehicles to replace equipment being repaired

• Tracking Equipment

• Ensuring equipment is cleaned and fueled before going back out the field

• Driving around jobsite to make sure that the equipment is working and on keeping on schedule

• Using Computer to find information needed

• Ordering parts either on computer or by phone

• Ensuring mechanics are adhering to safe working practices

• Tracking all repairs and preparing reports as necessary

• Maintains and inventories equipment and tools; maintains equipment to ensure the safe operation; changes and adds fluids; recommends sending equipment out for specialized repair; and reports major repairs to the proper department.

• Making sure that supervised employees are punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines, beginning and ending assignments on time, and scheduled work breaks, where applicable.

What You'll Bring

QUALIFICATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS, AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or GED equivalency

• 5 years of experience in repairing and supervising vehicles and heavy equipment used in the construction industry

• Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Thorough knowledge of the construction, assembly, adjustment and maintenance of diversified mechanical equipment.

• Ability to establish and maintain courteous, professional and effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization and all vendors.

• Knowledge of and ability to apply relevant safety rules and practices.

• Knowledge of and ability to apply knowledge to the proper operation, use and routine maintenance and repair of equipment and vehicles.

• Ability to operate hand and power tools. May be required to operate motor vehicles and light trucks.

• Ability to understand and follow uncomplicated instructions.

• ABILITY TO PERFORM STRENUOUS WORK IN ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS

• Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist and using full lower extremities and back.

• Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.

• Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.

• Reaching: Extending hands and arms in any direction.

• Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.

• Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.

• Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.

• Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.

• Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.

• Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

• Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

• Subject to outside environmental conditions: at times no effective protection from weather.

• Subject to moderate exposure to injuries and moderate exposure to fumes, vapors, grease, oil, dust, etc. Must follow all safety requirements carefully.
