Job Description Summary:

What you need to know about the role:

As a Software Engineering Intern in the Terminal & Hardware Team you will get a chance to work the software integrations for the Zettle hardware. Card readers, embedded & AOSP-based, but also the Zettle offered peripherals like barcode scanners, printers, and cash drawers.

Meet our team:

You will join a group of experienced and driven software engineers that have a zeal for writing code that runs on devices in the hands of real users. The team is led by an Engineering Manager, and two Product Managers, collaborating with designers and engineers from many other teams in Zettle and PayPal across the world.

Location: Stockholm, Sweden.
Duration: 6 Months, starting April 2025.

In Terminal & Hardware Team there will be opportunity to impact the daily experience of Zettle by PayPal merchants and buyers. Together with the team you will be able to find challenging work that either improves our currently released products for our users, or you will be contributing to initiatives for future payments and POS solutions. As an engineer in Terminal & Hardware team you also have access to directly influence and work on payment experiences for a global audience.

Your day to day

Together with the team you will find impactful work that also gives you an chance to learn about payments at PayPal and the payments industry. You will have a lot of autonomy to structure work to suit your style of working. The team values each member to have time to develop their own understanding and research as needed so you’ll have the same opportunity. You will also participate in technical reviews, a space for sharing technical discovery but also learn from other members of the team.

  • You are excited about AOSP & Android, iOS, or embedded devices programming.
  • You have some working experience with C or C++, and don’t mind doing work to develop your proficiency further.
