We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

Job Description Summary:

PayPal container platform team is responsible for building and maintaining the deployment platform for PayPal. Operating the platform at possibly one of the largest scale at peak efficiency, performance and security.
The team works closely with open source community to enhance key k8s components suiting PayPal requirements.

Job Description:

Your way to impact:

• You will implement next generation cloud platforms in a hybrid cloud setting to support PayPal business teams to scale their applications that serve millions of customers worldwide and process billions of dollars in payments.
• You will drive solutions and implementation leveraging different open source distributed systems, drive its adoption and deliver a complete product.
• You will build creative, brand new solutions from scratch and operate the platform. This platform is built on best of breed technologies and will be open sourced.

Your day to day:

You will work with cross platform team to develop or enhance the offered product or service. You will understand the requirements, come up with solution, design and vet out design with tech leads to put together implementation plan. You will work with cross functional teams to integrate your work into larger platform ecosystem, validate, sign off.

What you need to bring:

• BS/MS/Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field
• 6+ Experience in Java/Go
• Experience in designing & building highly scalable & reliable systems
• Experience on operating on cloud/container platform is a plus
• Kubernetes
• Strong fundamentals and hands on experience workin with docker/containerization technology, Kubernetes.
• Working knowledge on any one of these cluster managers: Mesos/kubernetes/docker swarm. Mesos/K8 is a plus.
• Strong Linux/system knowledge
• Strong understanding of fundamental distributed system principles.
