This position is for a Network Performance intern. Some of the projects you may work on could enhance your skills in one or more of the following areas:
5G Technology.
Network Performance Optimization and Management.
Radio Frequency Design.
NFV (Network Functions Virtualization).
Software Defined Networking (SDN).
Business Analytics.
Programming: Java, Python, Wireshark, Splunk.
Data Warehousing: SQL & database query tools.
Grafana (Prometheus) & GitHub Network.
You must be enrolled in a degree program and in good academic standing to be considered.
In this hybrid internship, you’ll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager. This hybrid internship may be based out of Richardson, TX (Dallas, TX). If relocation is required, relocation assistance may be available.

You’ll need to have:
Ability to participate in our hybrid 10-week internship that takes place from June 2, 2025 to August 8, 2025 working a full-time schedule.
Current enrollment in a Southern Methodist University (SMU) Bachelor’s degree program majoring in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Data Science, or related majors with a completion date between December 2026 and June 2028.
Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
Coursework or demonstrated experience in waveforms and radio frequency spectrum.
Willingness to travel and work in an assigned Verizon office.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Demonstrated strong written and communication skills.
Experience in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
Knowledge of filters and signal modulation.
Knowledge of WIFI, wireless, or modern communication networks.
Understanding of radio signal propagation (Industry Ex: Planet EV, Atoll).
Knowledge of electromagnetics and optics.
