Job Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking multiple Top Secret/SCI Cleared Space Vehicle Engineer  with backgrounds in National Security Space to join our SETA team in El Segundo, CA. For this effort we are providing support technical advisory services to the United States Space Force's Space Systems Command and Space Operations.

Program Overview:

In this effort, you will be a part of a specialized team supporting Government weapon systems program offices with systems acquisitions and program management support on various capability development programs that are intended to protect and defend the Nation's most valuable space assets. Our team is at the forefront of the advising and assisting the Government throughout the full lifecycle of systems acquisition processes that enable in most instances, rapid fielding to meet warfighter needs. The goal is to provide new technological implementation/delivery that will aid in the effort to maintain space superiority with unmatched warfighting capabilities while disrupting adversaries in the contested space domain.

General Duties:

  • Lead, coordinate, and participate in the development of propulsion solutions and architectures for a wide variety of space vehicle missions.
  • Lead, coordinate and participate in the incorporation of new and/or refinement of existing propulsion systems (e.g. propulsion system/component sizing, requirement development and allocation, performance analyses, design tasks, integration, test, verification, launch and flight operations.
  • Interface with USG Launch Range elements and establish support agreements that meet satellite SPO and prime contractor requirements; collaborate with mission partners and negotiate agreements for shared responsibilities.
  • Define readiness process and plan for space segment for launch.
  • Ensure prepared for and successfully execute launch site payload processing and ultimately launch.
  • Facilitate negotiation of space vehicle to launch vehicle interface requirements in the best interest of the SV SPO.

Desired Skills: 

•      Bachelor’s degree and (8+) or more years of experience in an in-space propulsion system analysis, build, test or support role

•      Experience with satellite integration and test and processing.

•      Requires basic understanding of launch vehicle missions, performance and processing

•      In-scope security background investigation (T5 or SSBI), adjudicated for SCI eligibility and enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (if applicable).

Compensation:

  •  Salary Range: $170,000 - $200,000 (compensation varies on position and relevant years of experience and education)
  •  Benefits: Cigna medical, dental, vision, 401k, 20 days paid time off, 11 federal holidays, and sick leave as required by law
