Leveraging transaction data from approximately a quarter of the world’s $6 trillion in digital commerce and nearly 400 million active accounts annually, our platform empowers advertisers to engage customers through the entire marketing funnel—from awareness to purchase, loyalty, and advocacy.

We are establishing a new PayPal Ads division to drive the growth of our advertising business. With a dedicated organization responsible for our comprehensive suite of advertising products, PayPal Ads will empower merchants and brands to reach and convert our highly engaged user base across PayPal, Venmo, and Honey platforms in multiple markets, revolutionizing global commerce. We have launched an Advanced Offers Platform and a proprietary cash-back rewards program called CashPass. The Advanced Offers Platform is a powerful new digital advertising service that enables PayPal’s merchants to publish and present offers in PayPal’s App and other consumer engagement surfaces, such as transaction receipts, to targeted consumer segments across PayPal’s two-sided network.

About the role

PayPal Ads is looking for a seasoned commercial leader with a track record of building advertising businesses and managing cross-functional teams who will be responsible for the Honey product and commercialization strategy and execution. You will be the business owner of the Honey platform within the PayPal Ads organization. You'll be responsible for identifying, prioritizing, building, and enabling new ways for our advertisers and merchants to engage with users of the Honey platform. You will also work with the consumer marketing team to attract new customers and with your product tram and the engineering organization to keep engaged Honey customers. You will work closely with cross-functional partners, including sales, operations, finance, product, engineering, and marketing. We seek a high-performing team leader who drives results rapidly while delivering profitable growth for the Honey platform. In this role, you have the opportunity to significantly extend PayPal’s value proposition to our three-sided network while being instrumental in developing our new advertising business for the company. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a long-term vision for the Honey product and commercialization strategy rooted in a deep understanding of the needs of our consumers, merchants, advertisers, and PayPal.

  • Work with all stakeholders to develop and execute the Honey product and commercialization strategy.

  • Maximize the value of the Honey platform for merchants and advertisers, maximize the eCPM and insights generation for PayPal and most importantly, provide superior value to consumers

  • Work with the Marketing team to win and retain users of the Honey Platform.

  • Partner with product, engineering, design, and data science teams to enable the best  Honey platforms.

  • Define the right balance between short-term revenue maximizing initiatives and long-term growth bets.

  • Be the conduit between sales, operations, product, engineering, training, communications, legal, and privacy.

  • Be a strategic thought partner to team members in different parts of the business.

  • Work with Marketing and PR to develop a marketing and comms plan inclusive of scalable sales collateral, B2B marketing and PR.

  • Collaborate with Ad Tech teams to inform ads surfaces/inventory, formats, targeting and pricing needed to enable advertisers to engage audiences across advertiser goals of awareness, trial, and conversion.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience working in a leadership position in affiliate marketing or in advertising technology organizations.

  • 10 years of leadership experience in affiliate marketing strategy and execution.

  • Proven track record of building and managing a multi-million-dollar affiliate business

  • Hired and managed highly successful ad enablement organizations.

  • Deep understanding of the advertiser, agencies, affiliate, and advertiser branding and performance needs.

  • Network and close working relationships with advertisers, agencies, and ad technology companies, as well as deep expertise and relationships in the broader ad tech ecosystem, including Affiliate Networks, DSPs, SSPs, etc.

  • Successful track record building out strategies and partnerships from 0 to 1.

  • Hired and managed highly successful sales engineering and enablement organizations.

  • Strong financial and business acumen with a high degree of comfort engaging with technical leaders internally and externally.

  • Ability to synthesize complex information into the essential points to inform executive decision-making.

  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a matrixed organization.

  • Superior relationship-building and exceptional consultative skills with a passion and hunger to win.

  • Results-oriented, analytical, self-motivated, and a “hands-on” person with a proven ability to meet objectives and targets.

  • Travel required, as necessary, for customer-facing activities and team collaboration.

  • Recognize and understand critical cultural approaches to doing business globally. 

  • Executive presentation skills; including in-person, written, and verbal.

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is

$143400 to $285450
