Position Specific Description

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Sr Legal Assistant to support our employment and litigation teams within the law department. The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative and clerical support to both our employment and litigation attorneys in a dynamic legal environment. This role involves assisting with the preparation and management of various legal documents associated with claims and lawsuits, including notices, subpoenas, motions, and pleadings. The Sr Legal Assistant will be responsible for maintaining a comprehensive calendar of all events and deadlines related to ongoing cases, such as responses to complaints, discovery deadlines, depositions, hearings, and trial dates. Additionally, the successful candidate will help manage the filing and receipt of subpoenas for records, depositions, hearings, and trials. The Sr Legal Assistant will also support attorneys in document gathering, organization, and basic review for both litigation and non-litigation matters. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. The ideal candidate should be proficient in legal software and e-discovery tools, possess strong communication skills, and be able to work efficiently under pressure. Experience in handling confidential information and adapting to changing priorities is essential for success in this role.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

•   Assists in case preparation including basic legal research, file maintenance and transaction management and closings

•   Drafts documents and correspondence

•   Maintains legal calendar and schedules all legal proceedings and negotiations

•   Mentors and coordinates work activities for junior employees

•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned
