About this Role

The Sr. Manager, Technical Accounting and Strategic Projects plays an integral part in interacting with and advising Quanta's senior management and its operating units on complex technical accounting matters, as well as representing or leading the accounting function in strategic projects and transactions.

This person will be the lead technical accounting advisor and required to have a strong working knowledge in the following areas: revenue recognition for construction contractors, leasing, business combinations, consolidation, joint venture accounting, manufacturing accounting and hedging. This position will act as the accounting lead and have the key role in several enterprise-wide strategic projects and initiatives.

This highly visible position will develop and maintain close business relationships with various disciplines throughout the organization including senior management, financial planning and analysis, operating units finance departments, corporate accounting, treasury, tax, legal and the corporate development team.

What You'll Do

  • Technical accounting advisor supporting the Company with the practical application of complex accounting matters primarily in the following areas: revenue recognition for construction contractors, leasing, business combinations, consolidation, joint venture accounting, manufacturing accounting and hedging.
  • Evaluate various complex transactions and contracts against US GAAP, recommend alternative structures to meet business and financial needs while complying with accounting principles and regulations. Work with other departments in implementing new accounting standards.
  • Prepare and review accounting memoranda providing documentation of the Company's application of accounting principles to specific transactions or events.
  • Monitors standard-setters for latest accounting regulations, analyzes impact of new/emerging regulations on the company and proactively develops policy to address standard adoption and implementation.
  • This position will act as the accounting lead in several enterprise-wide strategic projects, transactions, and initiatives including corporate finance programs, mergers and acquisitions, integration of acquired businesses, supply chain strategies, etc.
  • Develop and maintain close business relationships with various disciplines throughout the organization including senior management (c-suite), financial planning and analysis, operating units finance departments, corporate accounting, treasury, tax, legal and the corporate development team.
  • Maintains strong relationship with external auditors and advisors; confers with external auditors and adivors on various transactions; documents transactions and decisions.

What You'll Bring

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and/or Master's in accounting
  • "Big Four" Public Accounting or similar role in a public company
  • > 11 Years

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Public firm transaction-related experience (i.e. financial due diligence, capital markets transactions, technical accounting subject matter expert) is strongly preferred.
  • Public firm National (Technical) Office experience is a plus.
  • > 3 Years
