Job Description:

Your day to day:
As a Sr Product Design Manager for the Venmo P2P team, you will guide a team of product designers in collaborating with other cross-functional team members to build and deliver the best possible payments experiences for Venmo consumers. You will act as a strategic thought leader, guiding your team to deliver flawless execution, while ensuring that designs align with business goals by collaborating closely with your cross-functional peers.

You will be part of the Venmo design team across all end-to-end experiences for Venmo consumers globally and work closely with your product and engineering partners to inform and drive the strategy and roadmap. You will work with other leaders and cross-functional team members to build and deliver the best possible experiences across all aspects of commerce from discovery to post-purchase experiences. 

At Venmo, design leaders demonstrate an unwavering commitment to user-centered design practices, building trust and security within the next generation of our financial service products by bringing the customer to the forefront in everything we do. In this role you will help us find and develop world class design talent and have a passion for coaching designers and partners in empathizing with customer problems, how to diagnose them with data, and treat them through design.
 

Job responsibilities:

  • Leads UX efforts within a cross-functional team, including strategic Influence on product direction, planning, participating in delivery, presenting effectively to stakeholders up to executive level.
  • Collaborates with senior leaders and stakeholders to align design goals with business objectives.
  • Leads a team of designers, championing best practices in process and methodology to deliver against business KPIs and customer needs.  
  • Coaches the usage of an established design system, style guides, patterns and assets in the creation of UX deliverables. 
  • Manages workflow, intake, and design resourcing effectively, responding to business needs and priorities.
  • Find and develop world class design talent and effectively coach and grow designers.
  • Actively contributes to the wider design community, leveraging strengths to help others develop and learn, while fostering a culture of innovation and creativity within the design organization.
  • Partners with design, engineering, design systems and product management team members in the execution and delivery of Venmo’s products and services, using a customer-focused, iterative design process. 
  • Creates high-quality deliverables and executes based on product design goals and priorities without prescriptive guidance or direction, managing their work to a more extensive schedule.  
  • Leverages and extends the use of established product design techniques, templates, presentations and assets in the creation of product design analysis, solutions and materials. 
  • Contributes to the adaptation of Venmo product design tools, methodology and software, and proposes new solutions or optimizes existing ones.  
  • Creates opportunities to foster collaborative cross-discipline dynamics. Drives product design team delivery excellence, furthering influence to achieve product design goals.  

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in product design, with at least 3 in management, and a substantial focus on fintech and/or digital commerce.
  • Bachelors or Master Degree in the study of design including one of the following; Design, Information Architecture, Human Factors, or equivalent project/portfolio experience.
  • A portfolio of work, showcasing significant contributions in delivering strategic business outcomes, and a high bar for design excellence.
  • Extensive leadership and strategic planning experience. Deep expertise in UX/UI design, interaction design, and design thinking.
  • Customer-focused, with experience using design research methods to uncover customer insights. 
  • Proven track record of managing large, complex design projects.
  • Advanced proficiency with design tools and methodologies.
  • Thorough knowledge of essential channels and platforms, with experience in mobile, dedicated, web and native solution design.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and managing design in an agile environment.

$107300 to $259600
