General Summary:
As a member of the APPS Power Optimization Team you will contribute to the optimization of power consumed of various test cases for upcoming Snapdragon SoCs designed for mobile, IoT, Wear, AR/VR and modem products.
You will work with engineers across a range of disciplines (e.g. hardware, software and systems) and technologies (e.g. advanced CPUs, Hexagon DSPs, Adreno GPUs, IoT, AR/VR, ML/AI, Wireless LAN, GPS, low power audio, and low power sensors).
Job Responsibilities: • Debug and Analyze the high power issues in APPS SW. • Find solutions to system level power and resource management problems.
• Influence the hardware design to improve power consumption or simplify the power.
• Conduct hands-on performance, power, and/or thermal studies to help optimize the SW power;
• Effectively communicate experimental results, review with technical leads and peers, analyze outstanding issues;
• Work with software teams, who implement modules that are clients of the power and resource management software, to gather requirements and provide guidance.
• Work with software teams to identify and fix performance bottlenecks that increase power consumption.
• Design tools to identify and debug power consumption issues on development platforms and commercial devices
• Invent and file patents on technical solutions to relevant problems
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.Applicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
