Team Overview: 

The Procurement and Vendor Management (PVM) team is dedicated to supporting procurement functions to drive the success of Navy Federal’s operations. The summer associate with work in a flexible and hybrid manner and report to our Greater Pensacola Operations (Pensacola, FL) or our Headquarters (Vienna, VA) campus. Our team is comprised of two areas: communications and training. This role will work with both groups on assigned projects and tasks to support our department operations.

The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2025 and ending in August 2025. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2025 or later.

Potential Project(s):

PVM Communications

  • Drafting communications to be sent out to specific audiences within the department, enterprise, and external vendors. 
  • Develop slides in PPT for presentations for executive leadership and town halls.
  • Design and develop internal intranet web pages to align with branding. 
  • Assisting Communications Strategist with PVM Communications projects and campaigns. 

Training – Education and Awareness

  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop job aids, guided learnings, and interactive training resources.
  • Follow branding guidelines to develop engaging materials.
  • Work with Learning Solutions Architects (LSAs) to develop and design training materials.

Qualifications
  • Studying adult education/learning theory, communication, graphic design, and/or related field.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat).
  • Basic skills with word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to research, analyze, and organize visual concepts and created conceptual approaches and solutions. 
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. 
  • Effective English grammar, vocabulary, and writing skills. 
  • Organizational, planning, and time management skills. 
  • Experience in managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment. 
  • Desired: Knowledgeable in Procurement Operations. 
Responsibilities
  • Support PVM with internal and external communications campaigns.
  • Assist with the development and management of PVM town halls, communications, script writing, and proofreading.
  • Proofread and edit content to ensure consistency in tone, accuracy, and clarity. 
  • Review PVM communications for alignment with Navy Federal tone and branding. 
  • Assist Communications Strategist in the development, design, and layout of newsletters, blog posts, and powerpoint presentations. 
  • Assist in the design and development of training resources such as job aids, technical guides, guided walkthroughs, videos, and other interactive deliverables as needed. 
  • Assist the LSA in development, design, and evaluations of learning materials. 
  • Review and research the effectiveness of training, communication, and change management activities. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
