Job Description

Security & NFFG is a team within the Core Banking - Product Engineering and Delivery Services (PEDS) division of NFCU’s Enterprise Technology Services (ETS). ETS’s Product Engineering and Delivery Services (PEDS) division creates world-class technology products and services for our valued members and employees. 

The Security & NFFG Team is dedicated to innovating and delivering from inception to implementation the best technology products and services to protect and safeguard our members' data, assets, and portfolio.

The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2025 and ending in August 2025. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2025 or later.

Qualifications

Business Soft Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter/self-directed
  • Understanding of general Information Technology concepts
  • Experience with business process definition and optimization
  • Experience with systems analysis, workflow, or procedural analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with experience creating reports and presentations
  • High level proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Effective organizational, planning and time management skills 
  • Skilled at analyzing and organizing problems or work processes for technical solutions 

Technical Skills Preferred (as many of the following):

  • Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC ) for application development including determining, developing, testing, and implementing system requirements; designing, coding, debugging applications
  • Understanding of process management and process automation tools, such as Pega
  • Understanding of systems architecture (Distributed and Mainframe)
  • Ability to conduct research and analysis and make recommendations
  • Ability to analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating systems environment, interface with other systems, internal and external controls, and output
  • Familiarity with designing and coding application solutions; integrating changes to applications 
  • Ability to develop and maintain solution documentation 
  • Ability to identify business requirements (e.g., needs, objectives, functions, features, input, and output) 
  • Familiarity with maintaining and monitor systems/applications after implementation 
  • Ability to prepare test data; conduct unit and string testing; debug code and systems components 
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve application/solution problems
Responsibilities

Learn and understand the Security, Fraud, and NFFG applications by providing support on the following:

  • Research and recommend technological solutions for Product Application Data Repository
  • Define and document process maps to help facilitate efficiency in Security, Fraud, and NFFG Services processes

  • Develop and evaluate information and prepare recommendations
  • Partner with Technology Product Owner/Manager (TPO/TPM) in creation, management, and maintenance of Product Application Data Repository
