Job Description

Savings Products Division (SPD) is focused on creating an exceptional deposit product suite & tool kit to enable our membership to meet their savings and financial goals throughout their financial journey.  As a team, we drive forward the product strategy, pricing and servicing of members checking, savings, money market, certificate, and IRA products. 

Navy Federal Membership is growing rapidly, and the financial industry is ripe for deposit innovation.  Savings and deposit products are something that most consumers interact with daily, and our membership is no different.  SPD is continuously evolving to maximize engagement from members and team members, taking advantage of data insights, improving processes, and enhancing system capabilities to ensure an optimal member experience. 

The Summer Associate Intern will report to leadership at our Vienna, VA or Pensacola, FL campus. Responsibilities will include analyzing business needs to develop and implement solutions in both systems and processes to provide enhanced capabilities. Areas of focus will include involvement in cross-organizational task groups concerning new systems or products as well as developing, recommending, and documenting enhancements to workflows to streamline processes. It will be essential for the team member in this position be a quick learner with analytical thinking skills to understand the evolving product strategy and competitive landscape to be able to suggest product, system, and/or process enhancements to propel the strategic vision forward.

The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2025 and ending in August 2025. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2025 or later.

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Effective skills identifying and analyzing business requirements and recommending solutions  
  • Experience in problem resolution including determining scope of issue, root cause, and creating well thought out recommendations
  • Experience in managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals
  • Familiarity with Change Management and Agile Methodology
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Strong strategic, critical, and analytical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of financial services/payments a plus
Responsibilities
  • Participate in cross-organizational task groups concerning new automated systems, products and/or services 
  • Work with project teams to plan, coordinate and rollout software 
  • Partner with other business units and vendors to improve procedures, resolve problems, and implement initiatives
  • Develop and present findings from analysis and research to all levels of management
  • Become integrated into and participate in the day-to-day strategy, analysis, and operations of the team
