Job Description

Digital Payments is a division of the Savings & Membership Department. Our vision is to provide personalized, scalable, and secure Money Movement experiences that enable Navy Federal to continuously exceed members' evolving payment expectations. To achieve this, we will:  

  • Create integrated payment experiences, improving the speed and transparency of members' money movement.
  • Enable payment innovation by both working across the organization and forming strategic (third-party) partnerships; ensuring Navy Federal remains top-of-wallet and top-of-mind for members' payment needs.   
  • Take an incremental approach to delivering capabilities and value, allowing us to learn and adapt based on members' evolving needs

The Summer Associate will provide analytical support to faster payment and money movement initiatives within the Digital Payments Analytics team involving ACH, Zelle, Real-Time Payments (RTP), and mobile wallet transactions. 

Potential projects include: 

  • Develop analyses and recommendations that examine all facets of emerging payment products 
  • Analyze data, and utilize programming language skills to develop money movement dashboards
  • Perform complex analytical, statistical modeling, and visualizations on large data sets to support various business operations and organizational objectives needs

The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2025 and ending in August 2025. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2025 or later.

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or other related degree
  • Experience working with business intelligence tools such as: Microsoft Power BI and Tableau
  • Programming language skills such as: R, Python, Scala, and SQL
  • . Data storytelling and technical presentation skills
  • Ability to work with large and complex datasets to derive business insights
  • Strong strategic, critical, and analytical thinking skills
  • Basic understanding of the payments industry 
Responsibilities
  • Analyze business operations, member, and money movement trends to drive digital payment initiatives 
  • Analyze member and transactional data to understand, predict, and identify opportunities to influence member behavior through predictive and prescriptive analytics
  • Present findings and recommendations from analyses to business stakeholders and leadership
  • Collaborate with internal and external business partners to answer business questions
