The Opportunity:In support of a government agency and under direction from a Department of government, your primary focus will be to provide expertise and ongoing support in technical writing, graphics development, and outreach activities to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences, including the public, with clarity, accuracy, and consistency. This includes cloud-based knowledge management system site development, technical library services, and the development of standardized practices for resource documentation development.
Responsibilities:As a Technical Writer/Editor you will:
- Research, analyze, coordinate, and prepare for distribution of a variety of material/information that supports the mission, activities, and initiatives of the government.
- Work with other organizational entities within the federal government on employee engagement activities.
- Serve as a technical authority in grammar, style, and formatting and participate in workflow management.
- Ensure all internal and external documents adhere to a standardized compliance guideline, such as 508 Compliance.
- Plan, edit, design, and write content for a variety of internal communications media, such as a staff intranet, meeting presentations, regular newsletters, periodic email updates, and videos.
- Write draft messages or scripts for senior executives to be used in presentations to government employees in written or spoken form.
- Perform comprehensive editorial reviews and analyze work products to ensure that objective, style, and manner of presentation aligned with the overall goals and target audience of the government.
- Work with the editorial advisory group to develop and write internal communications policies and procedures for senior-level approval.
- Work with the editorial advisory group to support decision-making on internal communications.
- Serve as the coordinator for FOIA and audit request.
- Support the development and execution an internal and external communications plans and strategies
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in English or a similar discipline
- Minimum of two years experience
- Experience writing and editing technical reports and technical documentation using word processing systems (Word), desktop publishing (Publisher), presentation systems (PowerPoint), Adobe Systems, and spreadsheet systems (Excel)
- Must be able to obtain NACI (Public Trust) clearance/background investigation
Desired:- Experience using Style Guides
- Experience creating highly visible communications collateral for U.S. Government entities is acceptable
- Experience interacting with senior-level employees and preparing detailed, accurate reports and presentations for review by executive staff
- A current security clearance

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$47,100-$96,500
